I liked the energy Schroder brought to the team, but it makes sense for both parties for him to play elsewhere next year. At this point, Jalen Green needs the ball in his hands, not the vets.
If we need an ex Rockets Legend FVV replacement then you get a real ex Rockets Legend FVV replacement... I hear that he's Ryans GUY.
This dude about to break the record for most traded in one season. He’s shell shocked; won’t unpack his bags, won’t leave his room. Someone call him to make sure he’s okay.
Because we aren’t going to sell off our young talent and assets only to have cap issues next season and have to make decisions on who to part ways with. this trade deadline was either minor, non-factor changes or a big splash. I’m glad stone isn’t panicking. The fact we are this good already was not exactly in the plan. Patience.
This is not hard to understand. We are up against the Luxury tax next year without even a full roster. We were not going to add salary that carried over to next year. Period. We are $10m under the LT with an exception that allowed us to absorb players to collect additional picks. That’s all we were ever going to do, unless Booker, Shai, Edwards, etc. became available. There’s still a chance we could pick a decent player up after cuts. Otherwise, see how we do in the playoffs and see how we adjust in the offseason. Anyone dejected by this trade deadline was just not looking at the full picture.
I did think there was a chance we’d semi-panic after this 4 game losing streak realizing without FVV we have absolutely NO perimeter ball handling/playmaking. Green has a quick first step but he doesn’t have the moves to get open consistently and create for others. Just a ton of perimeter dribbling.
