NP... If T_J is true to form he will come back in, call people names, lose the argument, complain about people insulting him, shout unsupported opinion as fact, lose the argument again, and conclude that he has won the argument. It's something to behold.
MacBeth, I see you are still bitter regarding your very embarrassing moment of a couple of weeks ago. This amuses me. Now if you would please format your post in a style which is more aesthetically pleasing and condense it to only include the salient points, I will take a look at it.
I encourage anyone to take a look at those threads and see the degree of your dellusion. Seriously, T_J, if you are just blustering here, I feel sorry for your pride, but if this really is an accurate reflection of your perception, I am worried for your grip on reality. You lost those arguments as effectively as possible, I don't even think it's a matter of debate among anyone who read them. I will re-activate them so people can see how ridiculous you are.
I did read them, that's why it was so hilarious to read TJ's posts. I'm not kidding or being facetious at all. If there was another favorite poster thread right now, I would vote for TJ. Having read the arguments and then reading that last post it was just one of the funniest things I've read. TJ, I do have one question though: Which post did you want MacBeth to revise in order for you to look at? The 7 questions one? That's pretty simple and basic. Just seven questions clearly stated and presented.
You already "re-activated" the GOP Talking Points thread once, and you begged your liberal cronies to back you up. They didn't do it. It was hilarious. You were left standing in the cold. Defeated again. Now be a good boy and reformat your post so that I can read it. It is very inconsiderate to be so sloppy.
1) T_J reminded me of the title of the one, can you recall the other? 2) Do you think he really believes what he says about those threads, or do you think it's bluster to cover up?
1. I didn't remember the title of that thread either. I can only remember the arguments in them. I believe it was at least a thread name with a semi-war based title. I know that narrows it down to about 3,000 but I mainly remember TJ's posts in those, and his trying to twist the arguments and downplay his competition's knowledge as amateurish and foolish in comparison with his own 'patriotic' view on things. 2. I don't know if he believes what he said or not. Honestly, I think it's a pride thing, and he doesn't want to lose. But it's like comedy, if it's funny, it's funny, and sometimes it's best not to analyze exactly why it's funny.
Jesus, Jorge. Now MacBeth's "cronies" failed to back him up? The first time you said you'd won that argument I didn't know if you were kidding or not. Since then I've just truly thought you were losing your mind. I don't know what's up with you man, but you used to seem a little sharper. Your harping on that Talking Points thread though just really makes me feel sorry for you. If I didn't, or if I thought you were capable of having any kind of conversation or debate, I'd still be trying to do that with you. As it stands, if you can walk away from the Talking Points thread claiming victory, I know there is no point at all trying to reason with you. The only thing I can compare it to is the Iraqi intelligence minister declaring victory over the US. Just sad. johnheath experienced a similar, more dramatic meltdown recently. Is it something in the country club water or are you guys actually the same person after all?
speaking of lies... A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, "What are all those clocks?" St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move." "Oh," said the man, "whose clock is that?" "That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie." "Incredible," said the man. "And whose clock is that one?" St. Peter responded, "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life." "Where's Bush's clock?" asked the man. "Bush's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan. Thank You very much! I'm here pretty much every day...
I would just like to point out that there are no winners and losers, TJ and MacB. Well, I take that back...you guys are both really big losers because you keep going at each other to no avail (with regards to the other) and claiming your own crushing victory. Winners would truly win by not playing such a losing game of loserness. As I type this a tear comes to my eye, the sky darkens (literally), and I get very hungry. What a world.
lol....First of all, I could reort to the old sand box defense of 'he started it'...but I was willing to let him go on this and rant about his dullusion, except he uses it to duck threads he won't enter and avoid legitimate arguments about the war. And in that your specialty of choice is claiming intellectual superiority to all and sundry, when I need advice on not gettig into ego battles, I'll look you up.
*sigh* Somebody please do a search using google for "Rebuilding America's Defenses." This was written ten years ago by the neo-fascists...sorry, neo-cons...and spells out exactly what this administration is now conducting: pre-emptive warfare on Iraq. Next on the list? Syria, Iran, and North Korea. Bush did a sales job. Of course he lied, exaggerated, and threatened to get what he wanted (and had Pit Bull Cheney there to help). Lots of defense contractors and corporations (Halliburton and Bechtel foremost among them) are spanking their monkeys over this "long war." Ask the Bushies why the Americans placed nominally in charge of the Afghanistan occupation happen to be employees or ex-employees of Union Oil of California. Did we free Afghanistan for the Afghan(i?)s; or for Unocal?
I'm still waiting for Trader_Jorge to make a comment about what Richard Lugar said. One would think that it would be big news... the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee saying the Administration had "a thorough misunderstanding" of the politics of Iraq. Lugar also called for a new UN resolution dealing with Iraq that would entice other major countries to send troops and money to the country, which the Administration has said over and over isn't needed. Big news indeed. I guess T_J is more interested making himself look bad while trying to make MacBeth look bad than in this split with the Bush Administration by one of the most repected Republican leaders in the Senate.
Oh, Trader_Jorge was busy all right, but not busy wasting his precious time on this BBS last night. You see, this is the difference between myself and the lunatic fringe liberals on this board (Batman, MacBeth, rimrocker, FranchiseBlade, glynch): While the extreme left-wingers are spending hours per day rambling on about how right they are, Trader_Jorge is out in the community bringing about change. Yesterday I attended a volunteer kickoff meeting for my mayoral candidate of choice, Orlando Sanchez. While I was making efforts to bring a difference-maker like Orlando to city hall, the liberals were here thinking they were making a difference by seeing how many words they could slop down. Contrary to what many of you think, I do not spend all day drafting posts and then posting them. I'm a busy man, with a full agenda. So no offence to your busy cyber life, Deckard, but my goals are a bit more lofty than racking up 5,000 posts. Trader_Jorge = All Action Lunatic Fringe Liberals = All Talk
And that tells us everything we need to know. I am not a bit surprised that T_J would support Orlando Sanchez. Sanchez, like T_J, claims to have a great deal of knowledge regarding business, but, like T_J, when he begins to elaborate, he proves otherwise. Let's look at Orlando's claims regarding his own business expertise, from that bastion of left-wing hyperbole, the Houston Chronicle. These were taken from a Chronicle article dated November 18, 2001, during his last run at the Mayor's office.... "Houston mayoral candidate Orlando Sanchez's financial documents portray him as president of or partner in several companies -- an impressive list if the companies existed. Most were just names, though, and never got off the ground." (Houston Chronicle, November 18, 2001) "On financial disclosure forms, Sanchez calls himself the proprietor of Ban-Tex Investments and a partner in S&L Properties. Both companies are simply names he has reserved the right to use and nothing more." (Houston Chronicle, November 18, 2001) "He also lists himself as president of Sanchez Consultants, LLC, a company that he said in an interview 'never materialized.'" (Houston Chronicle, November 18, 2001) "On his campaign Web site, Sanchez says he is managing director of Nexo Latino, a Hispanic marketing firm started by a friend about a year ago. In an interview, Sanchez referred to himself as an investor rather than an active participant in the company." (Houston Chronicle, November 18, 2001) "He also mentions on the Web site that he was vice president of operations at Lowry Graphics, a company that dissolved, filed for bankruptcy and was sued several times during the oil bust of the 1980s. Sanchez, who left the company when the financial problems started, oversaw the print shop there and said he had "zero" responsibility for the money troubles. 'Titles are cheap,' he said. 'I had no decision-making on the financials of the corporation.' ·He then moved to Lowry Graphics, eventually working his way up to vice president. When Lowry Graphics "started going down the tubes," Sanchez left the company and enrolled at the University of Houston." (Houston Chronicle, November 18, 2001) "In Sanchez's personal income tax returns -- which he voluntarily supplied to the Chronicle -- he lists from $10,000 to $14,000 a year in business losses every year since 1996. His income, including his $44,000-a-year council salary, never surpassed $47,000 in the past six years. He said the losses were the cost of trying to keep his consulting work going. 'There are expenses associated with trying to maintain a company that isn't bringing in revenue,' Sanchez said. 'Obviously, you lose. At some point you just cut your losses and say, `The hell with it.' (Houston Chronicle, November 18, 2001) I am not the least bit surprised that T_J supports Orlando Sanchez. They are the same type of person. All flash and no substance whatsoever.
