I wouldn't say it is worship. I think it is safe to say that the one thing that Morey does well is the draft.
That is all he can do so far.... turned second rounders to solid to good players.... he has not drafted a player that is an allstar lock yet... not one that I can think of right away
I really think he has this time. One or more of Motie, Lamb, Jones and White will be an allstar. Question is, what are the chances that 2-3 will be allstars?

Considering where these guys were selected, none of these were bad picks. If these are the worst, maybe Morey SHOULD be president. PPatt and Morris were chosen in the #14 slot; the expected value for this is somebody that has a reasonable shot at PT. PPatt will definitely stick in this league; good chance Morris will, too. Dorsey was a very late first, and JT was a 2nd-rounder. Both have already beaten expectations. All-star lock? With what pick should DM have come up with that?
Someone said they were shocked to hear me say I really like the rockets draft. The only guy I have issue with is white. I like lamb and jones a lot, but I wish morey had drafted melo with that other pick. I think in a year, he'll provide the same things as asik plus he's a lot cheaper. Last yr, I thought getting do-nuts was a great move also. Wasn't crazy about morris, but getting do-nuts was a great move. I hope they clean the roter up and let the young guys play. It makes no sense wasting time playing kevin martin or wishing patterson develops a game. Lin,lamb,parsons,do-nuts,and asik is what I want to see starting the season.
I get what you are saying about the White pick. I think they should have either gotten a center or another SF. Still, i really liked the draft as it was.
I don't think they are horrible or unreasonable picks - well maybe Morris was. Easy to say in retrospect, sure, but aside from that one poster who claimed him a hybrid Pierce/Anthony, everybody was scratching their heads at the pick. In either case, if Morey is going to be called a "thug" in a good way, his average picks should be noted. I also find it funny the OP starts the thread with: By the very definition, I wouldn't call any of the picks steals. They all are guys that just slid. Maybe DMo in the sense that Morey ha to make a somewhat complicating move to get that pick. When I think of a steal, I think more what Portland did to grab Brandon Roy and screw the Rockets out of picking him.
troll n. someone who posts inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4] The noun troll may refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted."
Thought so; I'm definitely no the Machado train but it's looking kind of perilous. He played increasingly better as the Summer League went on and he was so superior to Fortson that I'm still shocked we have that guy under contract.
That's just silly. A million guys have been overrated before the draft. A steal is someone who actually PLAYS better in the NBA than their draft position.
There is virtually no reason for Machado to be ranked below Fortson. His vision, shot selection, and feel for the game are all light years ahead of Fortson. The shooting from distance is mildly debatable, at best, but even if Courtney hits a hot streak, is no reason to think of him above what looks like a very solid backup NBA PG. In fact, I'd you were to debate acquisition position versus performance thus far, Machado leads ALL of the Rocket rookies thus far. He, in the SL at least, outplayed his draft position by at least 20 spots. Would anyone debate that he played like, at the worst, an early 2nd round pick?
