Battier is overated in this forum. Just check what we could get for him if we try to trade him. Probably not much.

I am not saying Eaton was a bad defender but it is hard to compare their careers because the rules were diff when Eaton played. The "imaginary line" underneath the basket and the "Defensive 3 seconds" rule were not implemented yet when he was still playing. This basically means that Eaton can stay in the paint for as long as he wants and folks who drive to the basket are not allowed to charge over the defensive player regardless of his position on the court. Eaton is much slower than Yao so I would doubt that he would be more effective than Yao with the curent rules.

That doesn't really mean anything. Most GMs don't even know what they're doing, I highly doubt correctly assessing a player's value is within their capabilities.

Shane Battier is not overrated on this forum or in the league. He might be overrated on this forum because we are all Rocket fans but every single player on this team would be.

A word that would describe Shane quite well is Overvalued. That is not the same as being overrated. It just means you won't trade him for many other players because you think he is a key part of your team. People do the same to James Posey in the NBA.

Battier is an elite perimeter defender in the league, this season just has been one of his worsts. I still believe the injury is still bothering him, I hope this all-star weekend can help him recover quicker.

How would we go about doing that? None of our trade proposals involving Battier have been public, to my knowledge. All we can do is speculate.

i'd honestly like to keep artest and trade t-mac or maybe just not make a trade.

we're deep enough to still make it deep into the playoffs this year if we're healthy (or even without t-mac i still think this team can compete with anyone).

I'm actually surprised he was mentioned that much, but he is definitely a good defender. I actually still think this team can be very good, if Tracy gets his act together. We haven't really had any spectacular games so far. I remember 2 years ago when we use to blow people out and played our scrubs. Miss those days.
