I was driving to a restaurant to have some lunch and I turned the radio got the news and it just ruined my day, I knew then that our chances of advancing in the playoffs were gone.

I got the text message in class. I walked up to the 4th floor, looked out the window, thought about it.... and then the fire alarm went off. 100 of kids flooded outside, and I didn't want to go out like that. It was a sign from God.

I didn't say a word the rest of the day.

Didn't believe it when it first happened, couldn't accept it when I realized it did and struggled to remain optimistic afterwards.

Not only that, there's like five Rockets fans in the entire state of PA so once word broke I received a plethora of harrassing text messages and phone calls.

I think 2/26/08 is a day we would all like to put behind us!

When saw how he was in the Chicago game (Sunday night game), I was like he doesn't look right...I knew it was serious injury underlaying then low and behold he had broken foot and now he was out for season and there goes our shot at the title.

then winning streak extended to another 12 games after beating the Lakers, and I was like if he can just stay healthy for a stretch run or in the playoffs then we win the title.

I wouldn't say injured, but you can sense when something is wrong with player...he wasn't hobbling, but you know when a player is not reacting as usual.

it was a terrible day for me. i remember it vividly.

it started off ok like any other day and then i get a text from dave2000 saying yao was down. and i said aloud shut the f- up in my office. i jumped onto cf and saw what he sent me was true. i got a few more texts from my friends later saying the same thing.

we had our auditors in that day doing our sas 70 type 2 audit that day so i was having to show them around with stuff with my boss with a heavy heart all day to apoint where one of them asked if everything was ok. to make things worse the girl i was talking to get to know that day went all PMS on me that day too it was just out of the blue first time she had raised her voice to me that she was angry at me, but not at me i dunno exactly why she tried to explain it later to me but it didnt make sense. women.

yeah yao going down though was just a bad day i went home late that night too from work to make things worse i lied in bed and couldnt sleep all night.

    i remember that day.

a hour or two before the game.

surfing the net. and Bang while i saw the news headline.

i refused to believe it for a while. then asked why. why now? why this season? (we were doing so great. the season looked so promising. we finally got a team) feel like opportunity lost.

    a very bad day.

Kinda the same way i felt when Pujols hit that home run, when Stockton hit that three, and when the Bills kicked that field goal in overtime but only way worse.

I was disheartened but almost instantly knew it was an opportunity for the young guys on this team to step up, the veterans on this team to lead the way and the Rockets to reel off something like 20-25 straight wins and become the sort of inspirational team that lays the groundwork for a Championship the next season.

Not really. I figured a late lottery pick was in the future.

Tank you for ur opinionz, Derock . . . i iz vury prowd

It did very good things for the team. They actually had to pass to each other instead of feeding the giant in the middle. With Yao we might have gotten out of the first round, but that's it. Our team learned how to play together and will benefit in the future when he does come back. He slows us down and is a ball stopper. I think his offense should be from point blank passes for dunks and layups and rebounds, not post moves and jumpshots. He turns it over too much when he trys to dribble.

but whateverz i just is an idiot derrrrr

The point is that there's other places you could have brought that up. Instead you felt compelled to walk into the middle of a bunch of mourning fans and piss on the casket.

Oh, sorry. I didn't realize that seeing something positive out of it was bad.

I truly was excited. We weren't going to win. I honestly thing we'll be prepared for next year.
