The day before this season started... did you think the Rockets would be the scoring leader?

Absolutely. Melo never strike me as a bad guy. I remember watching a Knicks vs raptors game last season, where Jeremy received a hard foul from a raptor and Melo was the one standing up for him and even got a T for that. I also believed that Melo indeed want things to work out with Lin. But JR.. Talented but a d-bab

The thing about Morey's approach is he has not only gone after "proven" stars, but players with tremendous potential. It hasn't always paid off, but he's getting it right so often that it seems almost magical to the casual observer.

As for this team's offense, statistically they were all very formidable last year, but on limited minutes.

While there is science to Morey's approach, there is also a lot of art to it. Nobody was sure how well those stats would translate into starting, or even if their games would fit well, or if they would have personal and on court chemistry.

It is certainly shocking to me how quickly this team is gelling both on and off the court. It really feels like the players genuinely like each other, like playing together, and that their unselfish approaches to play are creating some excellent synergy.

While I believed that Houston's offense would be good, pegging them as the highest scoring team in the NBA was way out of the normal probability projections.

19-14? In the race for a middle seed? In the WEST?

Looking at this team in it's first month versus the last 5 weeks is like literally seeing them grow before your eyes. The amazing part is they are STILL so young and have tons of room to grow and develop. And that is BEFORE they hit free agency to shop for another potential max talent player.

I have no doubt that the Rockets fans are far from the only ones to be stunned at how quickly this team is progressing...

Yes, I knew from the beginning they'd be this good offensively.

I called it from the beginning. I didn't say it out loud, but I thought it.
