I've always been a D-Mo fan, but it may be time to end Project Donuts. It's just not working out here and he still hasn't panned out.

It sucks we had to cut Jeff Adrien to keep him...

    Dorsey only fan?

This is in jest, but Rockets would have to give up something for a DMo replacement. The starters aren't being traded to improve a backup spot. Canaan is the backup PG so he isn't being moved to improve PF spot. Terry's contract is too valuable unless it is thrown in for a starting PF and Jones moves to the bench. Papanikolaou is staying unless traded for a starter. Spare parts won't get an improvement. Draft picks and trade exception will be used for big upgrades only.

Wouldn't surprise me here on out to see Pap come off the bench for TJ and DMO in for Howard. Agree that letting Jeff Adrien go hurts.

yeah the people who continue to make excuses for this guy are just blinded. once TJ comes back, i wouldn't be surprised if Paps is ahead of him in the rotation now. 2 starting opportunities and did nothing to distinguish himself.

just saying but this use of fouls per min stat does not apply at all. there's a reason why he doesn't play many minutes because he wouldn't make it that long.

Offensively no. Defensively, he had his ups and downs. He actually played really good defense against the Spurs last night.

Donuts has been the only Rocket so far this season to make my sphincter clench when he receives the ball. Doesn't bode well.

Despite his stat line, he actually played a good game. Played perimeter defenders solid and switched off when necessary.

    GG D-Mo!

Agreed. IMO he is better defensively than Terrence and offensively even if he doesn't score he facilitates ball movement so much better than Terrence does.

Does that mean he's the answer for us? Color me unconvinced. But I sure wish him and Terrence would both step up bigger. Don't see it at all with Terrence. I think Terrence is a lottery team all-star. I have seen small glimpses of the possibilities with DMo. But no follow through at all. Very frustrating.

until Dmo can stay on the floor without fouling there's nothing to support the claim that Dmo is better than TJ defensively. if you get more fouls that the actual time to play, that's not defense.

If it sucks like a scrub, fouls like a scrub, and talks like a scrub, it must be a scrub. D-Mo is a scrub who only plays well against subpar competition. Against real NBA players, D-Mo is meh at best.

This is sad. Our expectations for this guy have gotten so low that we are celebrating him not looking like a complete spaz and "moving the ball around" on offense. He better pass it right now because he can't do much else effectively. I said in another thread that his initial defense last night was very solid on the likes of Matt Bonner, but defense isn't over until the rebound is secured and he was beyond terrible in that regard last night. He looked like a fool out there on several occasions trying to secure rebounds.

Keep defending that 0 point, 3 rebounds, 1 assist in 25 minutes stat line guys. Like I said earlier, as soon as he has a 10 point and 6 rebound game, all of the D. Mo lovers will be in full force talking about why he should be the starter. What kind of expectations are these?

    What about a NET DFG%?

    DMo -10.1%
    TJ - +0.7%

LMFBO. You just don't stop with the TJ bashing and DMO has completely stunk up the joint. That must kill you. Your hilarious

DMo is Ryan Bowen reincarnated. He can't finish, shoot, or rebound, but oh look at him move his feet on defense! These guys both put up zeroes across the stat sheet, but Bowen's perimeter defense was better and he didn't foul a ton. Maybe DMo can carve out the same kind of ten year career that Bowen had, but there's no reason for us to get excited about that.

dmo has had more than enough chances to prove himself. I thought he looked good in the preseason, hasn't translated at all into the season.

he should be done in houston, but unfortunately his trade value is done as well.

I think he's regressed actually... I like the guy alot (as a human) and wish it would work out but it looks like his time here is near an end.... he is pretty much the back up C at this point though so I doubt we lose him for anything less than another back up C

I don't know what is wrong with DMo, but he appears to be in a funk most games since last April. I think he'll get back to where he was defensively which was much better than Jones. Offensively, DMo is a more skilled player than Jones, but it doesn't show up in impact as much as Jones's finishing. DMo's offense may show up better on a team that his post ups would be more important.

I think Jones and DMo are both bench level players.
