yea, they played everything I wanted them to play, and was surprised to hear them play "Maybe Someday" from their 2000 album I was pretty pissed they didn't play "Friday I'm in Love", "Close to Me", and "Let's Go to Bed" but oh well, great show none the less, they're pretty awesome live, wish I at least heard their newer stuff more, since thats the majority they played. "Just Like Heaven" and "In Between Days" performances were top notch, couldn't have been better, especially with the crowd singing along. and yes, that was a ****ing long concert

ha I was too, then once you find out he's into Mariah and other pop stuff, he has to know The Cure personally I liked them growing up, I knew their songs, didn't know who sang it. When I got to listening music and buying CDs when I got to High School, I figured it was them and the great songs Erasure had.
They are present day also. I've been listening to them since the early 90s. About 15 years now. You just pick up on the old stuff. I like all different types of music.
Cool, I remember seeing them in the 80s.....and the Clash, REM, Erasure, Yaz, Depeche, Adam Ant, etc..etc..etc... Best decade of music...ever. DD
So get this. I was at the concert. We had to leave early because of family issues - right before encore 1. Encore 2 represents my general favorite era of theirs. Talk about sucks. PS - the Toyota Center's sound was horrible for the concert. Horrible.
really? This is my second concert at the Toyota Center, first was Linkin Park/Hoobastank/POD/Story of the Year in 2004, and I prefer the indoor concerts because its a smaller venue. Love it when the crowd sings along but you can still hear the performers perform.
The sound was fine for me EXCEPT the vocals. Robert Smith's lyrics were lost in the echo for much of the night. It might have just been a bad mix. I also thought that was the loudest show I'd been to at the Toyota Center, and that may have been part of the problem. Usually the sound there is awesome.
Yeah, I thought one of the big selling points was the "amazing" sound system it was going to have. I thought Smith's vocals went up and down. Early they were good, then got worse, then got better, and then were damn near impossible for the last two songs (before encore, obviously). My biggest complaint, though, was lead guitar. The distortion and muddiness hurt some really good playing. Bass and rhythm were good on their own, but lead would often hurt the mix when played together. Of course I have been to so few big arena concerts (preferring smaller venues and, generally, bands) that I might have an unrealistic standard.
I've only been to two other concerts at Toyota Center. I saw Mariah Carey, and she sounded funny on the mic. She sounded like a chipmunk for some reason. I also recorded some sound off of my digital camera, and it came out good, so i don't know. I thought High School Musical sounded real good. Real Real good. I guess they did some extensive mic checks, because it went on DVD so they wanted it good. The only bad sound was the piercing screams of all the little girls in the crowd.
Toyota Center has terrible sound unless you are on the floor. I'm seeing this show soon at Radio City Music Hall and I am psyched. You Houstonians got a killer setlist, I hope its as good. Havent seen the Cure since the Kiss Me tour at the Coliseum in Houston in summer 1987......21 years ago. Holy crap.
