Tour postponed North American Fall 2007 Cure shows re-scheduled for Spring 8/24/2007 5:58:28 AM - by CURE:ROBERT With all apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment it may cause, we have made a decision to move the September/October 2007 North American Cure shows to April/May 2008. The schedule as it stands only gives us a couple of weeks to finish our new double album before we hit the road again, and we know this just isn’t enough time to complete the project to our total satisfaction. Although this last month’s tour of Australasia showed that a great Cure show is not dependent on a new Cure album, it has to be remembered that we hadn’t played Australia for 7 years, New Zealand for 15 years, Japan for 23 years(!), and Singapore or Hong Kong ever before – so the absence of ‘new’ songs in the set was not really much of an issue. However, we want to remodel/rework the live show for North America, change things around, incorporate new songs… and we need time and focus to do this. So although we can agree it is a great shame to move these dates – believe us we have been looking forward to them more than anyone! – and know there will be a lot of disappointed people out there, we honestly feel that in the bigger picture we are making the right decision. All tickets held for all 2007 North American Cure shows will be valid for the re-scheduled 2008 shows, and of course anyone who seeks a refund will be able to get one. All validity/refund/rescheduling details will be announced as soon as we have them. We are still going to headline the San Francisco Download Festival October 6th, and we will still be performing at the MTV Latin America Awards October 18th. We will also play the three scheduled Sports Palace Mexico City shows October 20th/21st/22nd, as by this point we feel sure we will have finished the new album, and will be more than happy to start dropping a fresh song or three into the set each night… Once again, our genuine apologies to anyone who is upset by this announcement - please be encouraged by our promise: The Spring 2008 Cure shows will be even better than the Fall 2007 ones would have been!!! See you all soon… Love Robert, Simon, Jason and Porl – The Cure 24/8/07 Toyota Center Tix okay bob, who did you want to fire off the tour?
Oh well, I'll go see Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. If you manage to land these tickets, you will be the greatest parent of all time.
Sorry, but I got over crying clowns when I was 5. I still recall people in 86 and 87 walking around the hallways wearing "The Cure" makeup. I assumed their testicles hadn't dropped yet. And I still don't get angry clown terminology. I also recall in 98 catching my, at the time, 16 yr. old brother waiting for someone to pick him up for a Manson concert. I literally forced him back into the house and washed his eyes out. And then I broke his Manson CD. Say what y'all want about me on here. I can tolerate most anything. But when I see someone familial, I don't go easy. EDIT: The Cure sucks.
Yeah, I need to make a thread on this... New schedule is up! Houston is there. Your tickets to the show is still good. The Tour already started. They're in Chicago tonight (along with the Dynamo) I found some crap on youtube. It looks good. 23 days away.
isn't this a retro thread? yeah, they sold out the austin music hall so i'm not going. however, Snoop dogg is playing atown in august, therefore the gods are good!
it is, but they started the tour. yeah, snoops going to be here with 311. i might pass on that, but i'll watch it from the Beltway.
I love The Cure, BUT... All the girls that I have liked who also liked The Cure have been a tad shall we say unstable. It's definitely what I'd call "alone music." Using it as a common interest with girls is madness! Folly! A big mad folly. Their last self titled was a good time. When it was in my regular rotation, I listened to a lot of what I'd now call depressing music. A lot less Alkaline Trio these days. More John Lennon.
I hope you have the time of your life. No one can ever use that phrase ever again huh... oh well, who ya gonna call?
I'd would love love love to go to this show if I could find a decent ticket at a decent price. If anybody comes across one keep me in mind.
Man, that was a long show. Music started at 7:30, and we didn't get back to our car until midnight. I think the show was a great tribute to hardcore Cure fans. But man, I was really hoping they'd end on Friday I'm in Love, and they didn't play it at all, even though they had THREE encores. In fact, Dallas is the only place they've played it period, since the beginning of the year. Any Cure faithful know why they don't play it?
my ass is tired. holy **** that concert was long. im going to post a video or two tonight. my battery died There were these two guys. I called them the Lopez twins, because they had hair like them. They didn't play Friday I'm in Love. They did play Just Like Heaven. That kicked ass. Everyone in our section sang along. Overall, this is the best concert I've been to. So it is now like this. 1)The Cure (2008) 2)High School Musical (2006) 3)Mariah Carey (2006)
