Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is the complete name of the works. Look at the cover art to see what all of the drawings in the book looked like. I used to love reading Greek mythology books when I was a kid. Other than the Bible it seemed like the easiest way to expose kids to adult themes: like adultery, war, ambition and death. D'Aulaires Book of Greek Myths was probably the most engaging thing I read as a child. I really hope parents are still taking their kids to libraries these days, and schools still do that "Reading Is Fundamental" free book drive. If there's one drawback to having life-like video games and access to all types of media at the click of a button, it's what it does to kids' imagination. If you can't visualize experiences based on words on a page and a little bit of cover art; all those movies and video games are actually going to be that much less enjoyable down the road.
