I think this proves there is a silver lining to everything. I'm interested in this story. When you look at how many players are in the NBA, it's basically statistically impossible that there aren't atleast a few gay men, but you never hear about it. Even Rodman wasn't really gay, he was just an attention starved maniac. I think it would be really interesting to see how it would go over if an NBA player came out of the closet.

It's not a lifestyle, it's a sexual orientation (and one far more common than you think). No it's not bigotry. Bigotry is intolerance of opinions differing from your own. What you are expressing is simple homophobia. His teammates have been sharing a locker room with him his entire career. Bisexuals don't suddenly become shower-rapists when they come out. It was once said that athletes wouldn't share a shower or locker room with blacks, either.
Respectfully, the struggle for blacks and that of homosexuals is fundamentally different. You gotta be honest and realistic of the situation. What heterosexual male wants to be naked around a gay man? I imagine it's similar to a team of women not wanting a man showering among them. The sexual tension is real. lol. Can any of you help me confirm this. I've heard for quite some time now that there's a phenomenon in the black male population of a relatively high rate of bisexualism. It's called "Down LOw", it talked about a secret lifestyle of black men. Although they are in a heterosexual relationship, they wil cheat on their spouse with another male. I think even Oprah did a show on this. I could be wrong though....memory not the same as you get older!
