I'll bet the cameraman knew exactly what he had in his frame *Youtube immortality* He must have been choking on his laughter. The Turkey r****d was just doing what all r****ds do when they see a camera. Lord knows he couldn't have slowed down on that turkey killin' long enough to let his governor do an interview. He had real work to do, not that preening and politican' crap. He didn't wave though. Okie gives her too much credit by assuming that this is an image of her she wouldn't mind having available to everyone, forever. Dimwitted simpletons just sort of walk into things without giving them any thought.
I think that Sarah and okierock have just become desensitized from watching all of those Cheney interviews conducted with guys getting waterboarded in the background.
"something with a bit of levity" while the turkey struggles in its death throes. "nothing heavy-handed!" as the dude uses his hand on the bird's neck. This is good stuff. If only she was soaked in gore like the guy.
This video includes the pardoning hogwash preface which makes the later slaughter complete: <iframe height="339" width="425" src="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001/vp/27831044#27831044" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> Look at 1:57 in, for the extended, "Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh, I don't know," as she realizes she'll have to touch the offending fowl in order to pardon it.
You do understand that it was planned media event. Her press secretary and staff called the media down to the Turkey slaughterhouse. That has been shown beyond a doubt in this thread. It is very strange that you've bought into her being an honest plain 'ol folksy type myth that has been created around her, when the evidence is clear cut against that.
Is anyone else with me and just not give a damn about Sarah Palin anymore? She's a nobody now to me. I didn't care about her when she was just the governor of Alaska, and that's all she is now. I don't care. Turn the page. Piling on someone who doesn't even matter anymore is not exactly a worthwhile pursuit. She's stupid, she's smart, who cares? She's the ****ING GOVERNOR OF ALASKA. I am actually looking forward to not hearing anything about her for a while.
Give it up. You are talking to a wall. slcrocket, I agree with you. But Palin is a media sensation who's 15 minutes isn't quite up yet. Remember, the election was just over 2 weeks ago. But it won't be long though. In the meantime, she is pathetic and makes an easy target for ridicule and levity.
Lol. This is like a living Naked Gun skit. If you are giving an interview, it's gonna be hard to focus on what you are saying when a grinning, p*rn stache wearing dude is systematically killing turkeys and shoving 'em into what looks like a massive meat grinder behind you. What an awesome video. The woman is too oblivious to care.
those shoes are leather. He should have went with rubber if he was going to not be walking on harsh surfaces. What a waste of an expensive pair of shoes
Well there are influential people who do give a damn. People who invested political capital in her and are not backing down. Instead of saying they were wrong they are looking to push her as the head of the GOP and want her to run for President in 2012.
Like who? Outside of a comment or two from guys who's names I can't even remember, everything I read says Palin is dead meat and is not to be taken seriously. At the moment, the swell of support for her among so-called "core" GOP voters is just beginning to die down. But among movers and shakers within the GOP, can you give me some influential names (outside of a religious right nutcase) that are pushing her cause? Palin blew any chance McCain had of winning (or at least closing strong) and has been subject to buffoonery and ridicule rarely seen at that level. You expect the rest of the party to lay down the red carpet for her? With very ambitious guys like Romney, Jindal, Huckabee, Thune and lots of other people who are actually smart and informed testing the waters, Palin doesn't a chance. She is out of her league. If you instead meant that a grassroots movement could put her over the top, realize the GOP doesn't work that way. It's more orderly than that. Over the next couple of years, the moneymen and bigwigs from various factions of the party will settle on a candidate or two. That beauty pageant has already started.
I find it odd that people have a problem with this video. I guess most just think food just magically ends up in the grocery store. If you eat any kind of meat your food came from some sort of slaughter house. That is just how it is. I voted for Obama but I can tell you that this video would have done absolutely nothing to sway my oppinion against Palin had I wanted to vote for her.
Im not so sure. Rashmon believes slaughtering turkeys is the same as waterboarding. I also believe Rashmon eats animals that have been slaughtered, so therefore he is for waterboarding. Or in a more likely scenario, Rashmon has no hell of an idea what he's talking about, like most people who consistently post in these forums. Just go with the flow ... baaaa baaaa ... right to the slaughter.
I wouldn't bump this if it weren't already at the top this morning anyway. The reason some of us still care about Palin is because she is walking talking comedy gold. She's dumb and dumberer, she's Goober and Barney, she's Clouseau, Sgt. Drummond, The Jerk ... all in this attractive package ... epitomizing all the goofy headed ideals many of us can't fanthom that people actually believe in. She's the perfect object of self righteous ridicule that makes us feel so smug and superior. I don't want her actually in charge of anything but Alaska but I do enjoy having her around.
