Has anyone here ever recalled Landry trying to sky and block so many shots. It was great, and it makes our defense that much better. I see alot of potential in Carl's game. The improvement in Carl's game will come from his ability to dribble the basketball though.

no way does Landry play like David West. Landry is more of a high flyer while West plays more below the rim. West is much more polished with post moves plus he can create his own shot off the dribble. if Landry wants to be an all-star he needs to be able to create his own shot. Right now he's a rich man's Turiaf.

Landry is doing better. He seems fully recovered from his knee problem. I don't think he will ever be great rebounder, because of his short arms. His defense can improve. His midrange game could be like David West.

No one is saying he plays like west, we're talking about his ceiling, what he COULD play like. Landry has hops, but i wouldn't exactly say he's just a high flyer because due to his size, he too will have to play below the rim some of the time.

I'd say he's more like Paul Millsap. I agree that he's not really a david west type of player. West is more skilled and has a softer shooting touch but he is not nearly as athletic.

You don't to have great length to be a good rebounder. Landry is quick, he has good hands, and he can go after rebounds outside his zone. He's used those attributed to make himself a very good offensive rebounder. On the defensive side, he just needs to learn how to put a body on guys and box out better. He's often out of position on that end.

Landry was sensational against the Raptors. I was very upset when I heard his name was on the block earlier. I wish Morey will never consider him for a trade to get rid of another player. He will be among the top player soon with his EFF.

What would Carl be with Chris Paul? Paul Milsap, hmm I like that. Milsap is much improved this year.

Yeh I'm glad we hung on to him. He really is a nice bargain at 3M per year.
I'm all for shopping him at the right price, but it would take a really good player for me to be okay with him leaving.

Unless it is a deal for a really good scorer (aka Joe Johnson), then we would be better off keeping Carl Landry.

Glad to see my favorite Rocket getting some love. I'm glad he didn't get traded. His tooth-knocked-out-by-boozer-but-still-finishing-the-play and last-minute-of-the-game-epic-block-and-save are two of my favorite Rockets plays in recent memory.

I hope he signs my Landry jersey; said he would befre a Rox-Jazz game in the playoffs last year but got sidetracked.

Milsap improved because he's averaging 30 minutes a night. Landry is lucky to get 20 playing behind Scola. He still manages to make an impact in almost every game he plays in.

Actually, I think he should get 30+min even not is a starter! He can play many positions( C/BF/SF ). He is really good at rebounds and ppg. :D

Yeah I agree about his potential. Think about it. Last year he was a mediocre FT shooter, and his offensive game was basically rebounds and dunks. Now he has a dependable jump shot, can occaisionally drive, can post up at times, and still rebounds like an animal. Word is, and I've seen this in shootaround, is that he's also working on his 3 ball.

Who knows what he'll be able to do in 2, 3 years.

Landry's jump shoot is so sexy. Do not forget that he can only dunk last year.
