Kyrie Irving did not come with the Cavs pick, but a pick that they received from the Clippers for taking Baron Davis extraorbitant contract. He was consequently amnestied. Anthony Bennett came in a very weak draft last year when nobody was ready to buy that pick. Wiggins was a surprise, but I think the Cavs originally wanted Embiid until he injured his leg. Why do they succeed? Because they collect first round picks any possible way that they can.
