I heard he was just practicing with the team. He will be there for sure working out, maybe he will get the motivation to get out there in a game or two. Who knows?
Does anybody here knows something about Kareen Abdul-Jabbar Jr.? Also why is it Kareen and not Kareem?
Griff stepped on a piece of glass and is not going to be playing. He is practicing however. ...Threaded my heel, had to cruise on back home.... But there's booze in the blender... and soon it will render.... that frozen concoction that helps me hang on....
If somebody sees the Memphis Team play , I would really like a report on Chris Owens. I was awed his intensity when he played at UT,before the injury. It'll be very interesting to see if he can ever get back to that level . Go Chris!
Barring any travel problems, I'll be down there tomorrow night through Monday, and I'll catch the Warriors-Grizzlies game on Thursday night.
It's Kareem...he's on the Lakers summer league roster. Probably a mis-spelling with the n. But that's about all I can add.
Intriguing player. He's 6-9, long, athletic, and fast. He was #6 overall for a reason- I recall him making a "bet" with a Hawks personnel guy on wheher he could touch 12' or not, and he did it with ease. He's still only 23, and won't turn 24 till the end of the season. He's a good shooter as well, with a great looking shot, and very "toolsy" in terms of athleticism and defensive skills. Here was his cc.net profile. I don't see him fitting in Memphis- they already have Mike Miller, Battier, Dickerson, Person, and Dahntay Jones on the wings. He may see his free agent stock rise fairly sharply pretty soon.
Thanks Swopa, you might post the Owens report as a thread. There are probably a lot of UT folks that would like to hear if he's back. 6'7" is kinda short for a forward but in college he was a viciuos rebounder. Jeep
well it looks like hae came back down to earth. 3 points on 1/10 shooting in 35 min. against LAC. link
