The Ballot counting gizmo is up to 20.8% of ballots counted. Biggio is up to 84%, looking good. Bagwell is down to 69.7%, which would still be a really good number for him.
http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/54343/make-or-break-year-for-jeff-bagwell Make or Break Year for Jeff Bagwell.
One of my buddies went to a chiropractor's office yesterday (Chris Sanders...actually very good), and in the book of testimonials was a positive review from Baggy. He signed off as a former Astro and "future hall of famer". I really do think he deserves to make it. Unfortunately we're leaving it up to the BBWAA, which is like leaving the decision to 1st graders. 1st graders may be better, actually.
Good. Stop watching the Astros b/c they're in the AL, stop watching the Texans b/c you don't like the owner or some other stupid reason, and then stop watching the Rockets b/c they picked up Josh Smith. No one gives a ****ing half-gallon bucket of **** whatever the **** you do, anyway. Webster's needs to come with a new definition of fair-weather fan for you.

I would just like to point out that posting a quote about ignoring someone in response to a post that you wanted to ignore is not ignoring them.

Palmeiro. No need to wait long. “@OVO_DCollins: no Biggio? 3,000 hits. He's really going to act like Palmeiro and Biggio are comparable? What a jackass.
Pedro Gomez voting for Alan Trammell and Fred McGriff but not Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell should be enough proof of incompetence to where he should be stripped of his HOF vote immediately.
He's basically implicating that Biggio also used steroids. That's the only reason that could possibly exist for not voting for him at this point. The ones that continue to not vote for him truly believe that.
Today? We've known it for at least a year. He's a take-his-ball-and-go-home kind of guy; a cowardly bully. I have zero respect for him. April will mark the 24th anniversary of Bagwell's MLB debut; in those two-plus decades, here's what we know as irrefutable fact: he has never publicly failed a drug test of any kind; he was not mentioned in Canseco's book, the Mitchell Report, the BALCO or Biogenesis investigations, or any other high-profile PED scandal. Not a single person has ever implicated him - not a former teammate, trainer, associate, friend-of-a-friend type; the guy has two ex-wives and was involved in a high-profile divorce case, and not even a hint of PED use has ever emerged. I'm so beyond this discussion. Either print the evidence and give Jeff Bagwell the opportunity to address the claim, or accept that the guy was clean because there isn't a shred of evidence to suggest otherwise.
4 of these tools from ESPN voted for Edgar Martinez and not Bagwell. Never mind the fact that Edgar Martinez had a career spike in 1995 at the age of 32, that's not suspicious at all. But Bagwell, he's the strange one for following a a fairly normal offensive trajectory. How some of these chumps get votes is beyond me.
Among the things that boil my blood - they hold his lack of round miletsone numbers - specifically, 500 HRs - against him while pointing a baseless finger at him for roiding out. If he did steroids, why isn't he shattering previously-held milestones? Isn't that the PED narrative? So, by steroid standards, he had a pretty standard power career... which means he did steroids? Their wild inconsistency and lack of logic just kills brain cells.
He won't defend his vote, that is clear. I was curious why he left off Schilling (but voted Smoltz). Google pretty much shows he just has it out for Schilling. He hides behind the fact that there is no accountability for HOF voters. You paid your dues to the BBWAA for 10 years, so you can vote however you damn well please unless you give your vote to Deadspin.
They're basically saying, without the help of PEDs, you're looking at a Bill Speirs caliber player.... maybe a good pinch hitter type. Bascically saying he is a player who should never hit more more than 19 homers per, the rest of those he hit, that was PEDs.
This morning, the gizmo has: Johnson 99.3 Martinez 98.0 Smoltz 87.3 Biggio 82.7 Piazza 76.7 Safe to say it's unlikely Piazza will get in. Looking good for Bidge... but I'm still worried. If the Hall representative on MLB Network announces that there are 4 players going in before revealing their names, we know Bidge got in.
Biggio has to go in!! No doubt this time. Hell, he should've went in last year!!!! I feel bad for Bagwell though. I really wish both Bagwell & Biggio went in at the same time.
