Looks like the Bucks and the Cavs are making the most noise early in the free agent signing period. Most people are in disagreement whether they're spending their money wisely, but they're definitely not spending their money on scrubs, except for probably Gadzuric. Simmons, Hughes, Redd, Ilgauskas, and Gadzuric combine for 85 points a game. Personally, I think that both teams will make the playoffs next season with you throw Lebron and Bogut into the mix.

Plus, add three solid teams in Detroit, Indiana, and Chicago, and the Central Division might be the most solid division from top to bottom next season...dare I say, all five teams from the division could be in the playoffs...

It's going to be another fun season...

I think they'll both make the playoffs, but I don't think the additions will make them all that much better.

They should both make it, but neither will be more than punching bags. Both are going to have at least above average centers and scoring in their backcourt. Good formula to work with. Neither have coaches that could tread water against the likes of Carlise, SVG, or Larry Brown, and both have a shaky PG situation.

no way the bucks make it... they have a good center a one deminsional shooting guard, and overpaid SF, a hurt point guard

and Joe Smith and Desomnd Mason

I think the Cavs might make it, I doubt the Bucks will.

For those who say both teams will make it, what 2 playoff teams will get kicked out?

Just look at the Atlantic Division. Washington lost Larry Hughes, so that hurt them pretty badly, Boston was pretty mediocre until the last part of the season, and New Jersey's fate is still up in the air with Abdur-Rahim and Kidd's knees...

Here's the standings from last year:

    Miami
    Detroit
    Chicago
    Boston
    Washington
    Indiana
    Philadelphia
    New Jersey

    Cleveland
    Orlando
    Toronto
    New York
    Milwaukee
    Charlotte
    Atlanta

Of these, still better than Cleveland and Milwaukee are Miami and Detroit. Improved over last year should be Indiana and New Jersey. I can see Philadelphia, Boston and/or Washington (with the loss of Hughes) possibly getting passed up.

Too early to call. There are still lots of FA's to be signed and trades to be made. SAR going to NJ, ATL making a run at JJohnson and Curry, the Celtics and Walker, the Knicks and anybody they can find....not to mention the potential power shift if Rose, Webber, Finley, and Houston are LTax waived. Way to early IMHO.

I hear Stern is talking about opening up the playoffs to every team and expanding it to 8 rounds. So yeah, I think they'll make it.
