C'mon, looking for a real answer. I once said white, b/c i assume i have more European genes especially with a blonde hair, blue eyed gpa(Spaniard) and a green eyed, brown hair gpa(french/irish)....(i would say i am..a Mario Lopez look). But, then i was made fun of and called a self hater b/c i denied my indigenous roots. I never denied it, i just figured majority would count as my race, no? WHAT RACE ARE WE?!? WHAT SAY YOU?!?

Eh. So i am right. Majority is the race you claim? I need to do a genetics test or whatever. See if i got any eastern asian b/c when i look down, i don't feel like a latin lover...or perhaps it's the irish in me.
I know the US is the only place where they make us put "hispanic/latino" right? In Europe, you put Caucasian? I wonder what South America does.

there are many theories of race, none of which provide enough evidence to constitute as facts, but if you believe the most popular theory, there are three races, caucasoid, negroid, and mongoloid, they categorize us in the third race, but this is also based on another theory called the bering strait theory that attributes the origins of native american people to asians crossing the bering strait, from our own people's history/oral history/folklore we were here when people crossed that area, i do not consider myself hispanic or latino, by definition those terms describe those of caucasian decent, genetically speaking those would be recessive genes and eventhough that culture/people injected itself into this culture/people, i liken it to the descendants of africa rather than the people of india those of african descent are considered to be of the negroid race, while those of india are considered to mongoloid, a mixture of aryan and dravidian people, phenotypically speaking native people have a variety of representation but not enough evidence exists to say that we belong to any race under the three popularized categories
So i'm Mongolian? I though that negroid, Caucasoid, mongoloid stuff was no longer something anyone believed in b/c of new and more approved of theories and what not...
i am unaware of an abandonment of that theory but things change all the time, i'll look up the original article and do some research next week and send you some of the links i find either here in this thread if it's still relevant or through i-m if this thread is on page 3 or later, race is a tricky issue but i don't consider myself to be mongoloid

Somos LA RAZA jajaja! In all seriousness though, I never knew what to put down either. Usually they'll ask are you Hispanic/Latino/Spanish origin? If yes, then what is your race? I tend to look more Filipino or a lighter-skinned Native American but my parents look more White so I've always put White.
