I'm gonna watch almost every game and hope someone on this roster emerges as an all star. People can b**** and moan about what should be or what could have been if that makes them feel better. Time to start getting excited about the youngsters. Personally, I'm hoping Machado can secure the back up spot so we can see if he can ball in the NBA like he did in Iona.
Of course not! Don't be ridiculous. They can't just up and leave. They'll demand a lopsided trade to LA.
We won't have money tied up in (more) bad contracts that were dumped on us by the Magic, allowing for flexibility next year. We will get a honest look at how good our rookies will be playing this upcoming season, so that we can tell how good or bad they may pan out down the road. McHale haters will get their wish of him being fired or not retained at the end of season short of a deep playoff run. No more Dwight Howard is the savior of the franchise nonsense that some fans (and probably a few executives) have deluded themselves with. We are less then 24 hours from seeing Houston NFL football in the preseason. The Houston Dynamo are at the top of the Eastern Conference in MLS.
The bright side? Lamb and D-mo are still on the roster. The Rockets got younger, taller, longer, and more athletic this offseason. The Rockets, without any knee jerk trades, are likely to draft in the top 10. We made the national media cry when we got Lin. Dallas is boned.
Asian Americans and casual fans across the country disagree with you. I bet you regular people can name more players on the Rockets (1) than they can on the Bucks, T-Wolves, Kings, Jazz, Hornets, Bobcats, Wizards, Raptors, Blazers, Nuggets, Warriors, Hawks, Suns, Pistons, and Cavs. (0). Look, I get it. We're all diehard fans and we shouldn't like the Lin signing just because it brings us dollars. But I view it in this fashion: if Jeremy Lin allows Les Alexander the comfort of fielding a absolute godawful team record-wise because he knows people will watch and show up at games regardless of the outcome, then we should all stand behind this signing. At 8M a year, Lin is the cheapest Face of a Franchise in a long long time, and to me that alone justifies his signing. Detractors to the Tanking Method argue that even teams that tank have miniscule percentages of actually succeeding with that strategy, but my counterargument is that unless you are LA or Boston, you have absolutely ZERO probability of getting a superstar other than via this method. It's like Batman trying to get out of the Pit. Many try; many will fail, but how else are you gonna do it? All of us in the NBA besides 3-5 teams are in the Pit together, so we all gotta try to climb out and hope it works sooner rather than later.
gosh just imagine...aged Dirk...and a cast of no one... Truth is I cant imagine that...Cuban...as much as i hate his guts...its all about showing his fans that he is all about winning...The reason Dwight wants Dallas is not necessarily the city... I am secretly hoping that they are really bad in 2014...because there are some really talented HS players that will become eligible that offseason..
At least we have 1 All-star game starter LOCK, thanks to China. TAKE THAT LAKERS (mostly just Steve Nash, who is the only guy I don't hate on that team).
I remember when a lot of Clutchfans were hoping we could work a trade with Phoenix for Amare Stoudemire. I've heard that the trade was very close to happening. Now no one wants Amare and his broken body and fat contract. I'm so glad the rockets didn't get stuck with Amare. Dwight and his bad back made me nervous, so I'm not disappointed we didn't get him. I'm looking forward to this next season. Young players, draft picks, and cap space. Things could be much worse.
We got Lin!! That's a bright side. Yes, he's not as good as Dragic or Lowry right now, but he's also 3-4 years younger and will age well with the rest of our rookies.
