The biggest reason he would come here you left out. We already beat the Warriors. We broke that team and it took the NBA to rig the last two games. Tilman did not put his money into an asset he could not manage. Tilman needs for this asset to be his flagship and would not have underfunded it without the proper ability to leverage capital. I know the story of how he acquired it but SPECIFICALLY, he needs the franchise to appreciate in value. Adding LBJ and making this a championship team all but guarantees a $1B increase in the valuation. Luxury tax for Ryan Anderson? No way in hell. Luxury tax for LBJ and a trophy? Hell yeah.
We need to get LeBron. Or else, the other scenario could as easily happen. LeBron recruits CP wherever he's gonna land. Yup, we need to win this sweepstakes.
Harden takes the alpha role in the regular season, being the workhorse while CP3 & LBJ pick their spots. In the playoffs, those two take over and Harden has less pressure on him, and he becomes a lethal third option.
People that think that is is a certainty that LeBron James will sign with the Rockets are setting themselves up for disappointment. It is far more likely that James ends up playing elsewhere than the Rockets.
I don't see CP3 leaving at all given how well the Rockets did this year... He would have to go somewhere and construct something from scratch with Lebron while we already have a good core we can keep together.. trick is just moving Anderson
Which other star? George? We need him and at least an Ingles type from 3. Warriors have 3 3 Pt Shooters better than our best 3 pt shooter.
The Rockets can move Anderson if they are willing to move multiple #1 picks. I have to check, but if he is dealt right before the draft, the Rockets can move multiple picks.
lets get 1 of these LeBron threads to 1000 pages. I have this feeling by the 1000th page LeBron will be rocket
Some of you guys are hilarious. All this b****ing and complaining that if LeBron joins the Rockets and we win (as the kids apparently say these days) a "chip" and how you would not be satisfied with that?
Probably so. But its also hard to see him go anywhere else. Stay in Cleveland: Get passed by Boston and lose next year in the ECF, still have a major workload Lakers: Bunch of young unready talent, brand is nice though. LBJ doesn't want to have to wait to develop. Could be interesting if PG13 signs & Kawhi is traded there. A big question mark right now. Philly: More win-now ready then Lakers, but fit with Simmons and spacing is questionable. Could be just as much work for the first year or so. Houston: Cap-situation is messy but can be done if Houston, LBJ & Cavs all work together. Capable of beating the Warriors, less workload on LBJ
The Rockets dont have ****. Hell, Lebron may not leave Cleveland, or he may go to Philly. The Rockets may not have the cap space to sign him. WTF are u talking about.....
I see Lebron has two options if he wants to contend for Rings next year. A) Stay in the East, sign with the 76ers (who were easily defeated in rd2) and have to face that Boston superteam next year (which might rival the Warriors in terms of combined team talent) B) Go to the West, sign with the Rockets (who took the Warriors to 7 and probably would've won had CP3 not gotten injured) and have to face the Warriors with a much better team provided we get rid of Ryno in the process. Also, if he takes out the Warriors in the West next year, that would shut a lot of people up who say he only stays in the easy east.
If you understood the CBA any anything else you are posting you would realize the Rockets aren't using cap space. If you believe LeBron is staying in Cleveland, I have some waterfront property to sell you. Opt-in and trade.
