Qualls...Wheeler...AND lidge. Well...Qualls did well last night while Wheeler blew up.

Wow....I guess Trevor Miller is going to have to close games now....;)

that strikeout was gift-wrapped from the ump. those pitches were high.

we could use that upgraded offense anytime now.

not at all (right now). When would we have brought him in?

Not in place of Qualls/Wheeler/Lidge combo the first night. And not in place of Qualls/Wheeler the 2nd night. Maybe in place of Rick White after we gave up the lead.. which would have meant we replaced Rick White's scoreless inning with one (possibly) from Springer?

I'd like to see Hunter Pence in the closers role.

It's only been 2 freakin games people. LOL! You should hear some of the callers to the radio sports shows...why are we panicking? I will say that if by week 3 we aren't looking better there should be a Hunter Pence sighting and a new closer. But until then I wait.

well no one should be worried after 2 games certainly, but when the team looks disturbingly similar to last year after 2 home losses to the pirates, you're going to have to expect some b****ing.

If the team was 2-0 and Roy O pitched a perfect game I'd expect some of that.

Not one bit haha...it was inevitable, if he was left in for any amount of time he would try to throw his junky 92 mph fastball by somebody at the letters and get yacked on.

    Only slightly worse than Taylor Buccholz's era of 27 (.2 IP, 2 er). And Willy T's 1-9 (.111 average) w/ 6 K's.

I really don't understand why the Rockies use Willy as a leadoff hitter. With us, it was more because we had no other options... and our 7th and 8th hitters were just as bad. But with them, they have to have somebody better in that lineup to warrant putting Willy in the 8 hole (where he should be, until he proves otherwise).

There are only two keeper on this entire roster: Roy Oswolt and Lance Berkman. The rest are expendable.

I am not too worried about Lidge, I think we can find another effective closer to take over for him. It might not be this season, but it will eventually happen.

    GO ASTROS!
