Ok so lets get Hunter Pence up here allready... Because it looks like this team has to be able to put on average 5-6 runs a game in order to compete :) And why the F%#k is No Hitt Everett batting 2nd?

Lidge is. Rafer just sucks and is just doing the best he can while Lidge had talent and it flew away to the moon right next to Pujols' homerun.

For those calling for the immediate promotion of Wheeler, he was barely a couple feet away from being the goat and giving up the go-ahead homer to the only batter he faced.

is Brad Lidge the equivalent to Nick Anderson of the Orlando Magic....

the guy was never the same after missing 4 Free throws during the 1994 NBA Finals againts the Rockets!

Is Brad Lidge the new Nick Anderson?

Or at least have it so that the batter isn't calling his shot before every pitch.

He's mentally weak, that's all. He was already beginning to slide, and I think the 'Pujols moment' was the capper, so to spea.

MJ said something along the lines of, "the game is 70% mental"...he was right.

In reality, very few athletes are 'unshakable' or are the types to easily overcome a 'traumatic' experience.

That's why I was dying for the Astros to trade him early on last season, I just knew the guy was never going to be the same again, I could see the fear in his eyes. In fact, I think it would be BEST for Brad Lidge himself to have a change of scenery, may be that will free his mind again and give him a chance to concentrate on baseball and only baseball.

What sucks the most about all of this is that Lidge is a damn good guy. You never hear things about him, atleast I've never read anything negative about him.

He has mental issues that he needs to sort out. It may not be in Houston where he sorts them out.

    I wish him the best.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw it. Lidge didn't hang the ball up in the zone. Ausmus made a target, Lidge hit it, and Nady hit it really hard.

I am not the biggest Lidge fan in the world, but it doesn't look to me like that one was his fault.

What is more disturbing is that once Lidge gets into trouble like that, he falls to pieces. Right after that homer, Lidge started serving them up.

ideally its a good idea if burke is the leadoff hitter because this way pitchers will attack him and throw strikes so they dont have a man on with berkman/lee coming up. plus everett is a fast guy. BUT since biggio is the leadoff hitter for the time being the easy inning is the one where 8,9,1,2 hitters are up. no offense to biggio.
i also think Lee was trying too hard tonight... he had some really aggresive swings and shouldnt have even swung at that ball in the dirt when everett/berkman were on base. so lee just needs to relax.
lidge was unlucky and qualls i knew he would give up that HR... he just didnt look confident or something.
