Cap-wise, can we sign Bosh and then use the TPE to trade for Thaddeus Young or some 3 and D like Wilson Chandler? If we miss out on Bosh, wouldn't it be wiser to do a straight up trade Lin for Young and then fill the roster with the best player that we can afford than to match Chandler's contract?
Oook. Since english is not my natural language it's been difficult to me to really understand all that, but now I'd say I get it... Rockets would be hard capped only if they get Bosh via sign and trade. That would mean they cannot get above the apron by no means. But being over the apron does not necessarily means being hard capped. By Rockets getting Bosh via cap space, they could then match Parsons offer -in case they want to do it- and then keep signing minimum veterans eventually surpassing the apron figure. My doubt still, is if the rockets could use the room exception or not (I guess they couldn't use the taxpayer exception since they're chosing the cap space way). So could the Rockets, get Bosh, then match Parsons offer, then use that room exception, then fill the roster with minimum contracts? Or no rights to use that room exception? ... Would appreciate that aclaration, thanks.
