Percentage doesn't matter, 10 pts is what matters.

    25pts in 3 games 8.3 ppg....

Heck if we started counting percentages...we would have to worry about Tmac's lousy shooting this year.

If I'm his coach, and he's shooting 25%, it matters to me, his minutes go down, etc.

if his play so far is any indication, he might be capable of scoring 6.5 ppg in garbage time for an awful team this season, and not make it out of training camp the next.

I'd lose the bet, of course, and honor it, but I'd be pretty secure in the knowledge that the guys is a borderline NBA talent who was never going to amount to jack in the NBA.

On one hand I agree with you. But I do see a big difference between having the ball in your had all game against double teams vs not taking advantage of the few chances you get.

Fair enough, I think he just needs to get comfortable.

    8.3ppg is a good start...but hardly a slam dunk.

    how can percentage not matter?
-he hit 25% of his shots tonight. you can an off game here and there but you can't continue to shoot at such a low rate.

-if you shoot a low percentage your teammates lose confidence in you. especially if you're not kobe, tmac, or a.i. if he keeps shooting and missing his time will be cut and/or his teammates will look to pass to him less.

-tmac's lousy shooting is not that lousy. when you change the game as much as he does or iverson or kobe, the percentage isn't as much of an issue.

Watched a bit of that game tonight...

Boki is one nasty playa. He threw some nice elbow out there.

DD, not to feed your Nachbar jones or anything, but you will be happy to know that Nachbar was in the game at the END when the outcome was in doubt. It was the starting lineup minus Nailon and with Nachbar at SF.
On the other hand, he got killed by Deng on a late basket when Nachbar couldnt keep up defensively much like his game against Kapono. Nevertheless, he was in the game during crunch time, so they must see something in him. ;)

    Carry on!

    really???

come on...this is just getting silly. i know you argue just to argue sometimes. i'm calling b.s. you know percentage matters. you know that if you shoot 8 times to score 10 points, that's not all that impressive. you know that. i know you know that. you're just playing devil's advocate...again.

    Max,

Certainly you are correct, I was only referencing the fact that it is irrelevant to Sam and my bet.

And yes, sometimes I argue just to argue..

I don't understand what you mean?

I certainly am not afraid to voice my opinion, no matter whether it is popular or not.

But, I hardly think I am that harsh.

I posted in reference to this post. T_J posts for the sole purpose of entertaining himself by "arguing just to argue". In his case, he does it by baiting Dems. You have your own methods. :p

True, but I am softening up...getting worn out by all my stalkers now.

I think I may just have to post about basketball.

Yeah someone from New Orleans just called Boki garbage just after 3 games. It never was that bad here even after 3 years.

    Here

    Could this person be JVG?

His suckdom is that obvious! If they knew he had a cutesy nickname though I bet they'd change their tune.
