Sam, Boki is doing it some more. 22 minutes, 5-12, 2-5 3p, 3-3 FT, 3 rb, 2 st, 2 bs, -0- fouls 15 points. Could it be he is beginning to fit in with the rest of team and the game plan???
If so, is it a result of extended palying opportunities only available with a pitiful team going absolutely nowhere? Go, Boki. Succeed. Succeed and come back this summer. Works for me, if he works out.
AHA !! Byron Scott has put Lynch back on the bench and is indeed giving Boki the backup minutes he so deserves. I have a chance. DD
He is also shooting .423% and getting better every day. Sometimes players just need a chance to play. DD
No kiddin. Can you imagine having him backing up TMac now instead of "Crazy Legs" Bowen. Bowen gives us nothing.
National recognition. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...g=insidedishpistonsprincep&prov=tsn&type=lgns
yeah, Boki > Bowen isn't that hard to argue, and it wasn't even too much of a strecth back then. But Boki>Wesley is still a toughy, probably not ever going to happen either. Time will tell. Boki is playing his way into a contract. But still, it's freaking 90% garbage time with the garbage Hornets....but that's not all Boki's fault, but still...again...in time.
Must admit however, JVG's biggest gripe with Boki was his fouling and lack of defensive skills. Zero fouls is good, it would be nice to have some insight into his defensive work with the Hornets.... But that might be one more skill he just needed playing time in order to get better.
I'm glad to see the guy finally starting to pull it together. His last outing was very decent. 0 fouls for Boki....WOW! Shows that a some playing time and confidence will go a long ways.
But they do develop .220 winning percentages. I wish we had a good player developer coach instead of this stupid playoff team. We should have sat MacGrady and let Nachbar develop threes and bomb three pointers for 2 straght months so that he would get hot at the end of February and be a key contributor to a 12 point loss to Toronto come March.
I think that if we would have given Boki the minutes he would be better than Wesley. Of course Wesley is doing better than Boki when he was here but you can't score much from the bench. His defense is still a shaky but he will eventually get better on defense too.
LOL...bitter Sam?? What is New Orleans winning percentage since the Bokster got there? Got to be better than it was, right? DD
That post was the extension of another argument about "coaches developing players", which I think is silly because it doesn't really happen in the NBA. Coaches coach and players play - what they do with their playing time is up to them. Great players (or even good players) play well and flourish, bad players don't. Who the coach is has very little to do with it. I don't know, you want to start betting on New Orleans wins and losses!? I'm in if you are....
How about our winning percentage since he left? BTW, DD, great job on your project. Very very impressive. Good luck being the boss.
Ours since he left is irrelevant in that he was not even playing. Although you could argue that David Wesley is a big reason, and I would agree. We are certainly better this year with Wesley than Boki, but I was thinking longer term...how long is Wesley going to be a servicable outside player? He is 35 now, what maybe one or two years tops? Boki should be thriving by then...... Thanks for the kudos about the job, it is mind numbing all the work I am putting into it.....very risky, but potentially could set my family up for life. DD
except coaches dictates when if at all a player plays, and which position he plays. Oh, and lawyers lawyer. LMAF
