it was EITHER OR type of bet. We agreed on 6.5ppg. So right now, he is 1 total point behind averaging exactly 6.5ppg. So, I am losing right now and my signature is quaking..... DD
I will not be vindictive if I happen to win, I think my point was proven anyway that he's a marginal talent, he could averge 7 points this year and I'm not sure even NO takes him back with his lousy shooting, lousy d, and excessive fouling. I'm sort of kicking myself for setting the bar right at the vegas line, way too low, even a scrub like nachbar can score 6 ppg when you get to play the whole 4th against other borderline NBA talents like he did last night when your abysmal team is down by 40 points.
Boki was perfect last night. 0 shots made 0 points 0 rebounds 0 assists 0 steals 0 blocks 0 turnovers All in 9 minutes while committing 3 fouls. You're going down DD.
I have to admit, that I thought SamFisher was absolutely bonkers when agreeing to a line of 6.5 points. I would have thought that Boki would have an easy time getting at least 8 points getting 20+ mins on a bad N.O. team. Dude is just not good right now and if he keeps this poor play up, he'll be out of the league in 2 years, if not, next season. Boki played less mins last night than he has since he came to N.O. If Byron Scott makes this a trend, then Sam should have this bet in the bag.
It is Lee Nailon, Boki is backing him up, and he is playing well. FREE Boki !! Or my sig is toast. DD
Nailon has been playing well, but the REAL killer for Nachbar was the addition of Casey Jacobson. Jacobson will get a lot of Nachbar's minutes.
Boki stunk last night and it looked like TMac and the Rockets went right at him when he was in the game. It's obvious he doesn't have a clue defensively and he sure didn't get any favorable calls. There were a couple plays that could have easily been fouls on TMac when Boki drove to the hoop but the refs let it go because it was TMac. I think Boki's confidence is pretty shot right now and he is just trying to figure everything out. I still think he can be a player in this league and be a significant offensive presence. I still think he will have a game this season where he will hit about 20 points with 4 or 5 3 pointers.
I got my first chance to watch old Nachbar for an extended period this weekend in the Hornets Friday/Sat games, and while I feel good about my bet I am starting to just feel sorry for him. He scored 7 on Friday, but apparently all before when I was watching in the 3rd and 4th, because he just looked terrible. He sat around and bombed 3's (1-4 -overall, he missed the ones I saw) and was basically an afterthought on offense- a shooter that can't shoot. He dribbled the ball of his foot and threw the ball into traffic a couple of times. On Defense he committed a few fouls but wasn't that bad, since his assignment was Kyle Korver. At one point though after Jacobsen came in he had to slide over to guard rookie Andre Iguadola, who promptly crossed him over and took him to the bank on one play. . Then Jacobsen hit 2 clutch 3's towards the end of the game. On saturday he barely played and put up 2 pts vs. the spurs, and was just nondescript. He just kind of looked like he was marking time out there. I don't see NO saving much room for his minutes, especially if David West comes back and bumps Nailon into more minutes at 3. He should go back to Europe, he was doing fine there and he just doesn't seem to have an NBA game.
Nachbar still looks lost out there. He looks tentative and just doesnt have enough confidence in his game. The more I see Nachbar, the more he looks like Dave Jamerson to me. A guy that practices well but in a game his confidence just isnt there. Casey Jacobson is taking all the minutes from Nachbar, and making the most of them. Ditto with Dan Dickau. His play has been tremendous for the Hornets. Nachbar just looks lost.
And.....we're done here, barring something dramatic. With 6 minutes left, down 16 to the Mavs and having trailed all game, Boki's line reads like this: It looks like Byron Scott has given Boki his customary spot on the pine back and given the backup 3 role back to journeyman George Lynch. He had his shot, he couldn't capitalize - it's too bad. I hope he goes back to Europe and gets some confidence back and plays better - it's not his fault, it's just that we overestimated him. Edit, look out, Boki sighting with 2:50 in the game - can he score 13 in 30 seconds? That way he could end up with as many as 65 points...
Actually, it is all his fault. The fact he can't make it in the NBA has nothing to do with our expectations.
I'd agree. Barring injury, Boki is going to have to "play" his way back into the rotation. I can't believe he has been this bad given the substantial minutes. Maybe now folks will get off JVG's back for "holding Boki back".
Nachbar's minutes are in trouble. We already knew Jacobson was getting serious bench minutes and now Vroman is getting more minutes than Nachbar and with Lynch back? You can kiss those minutes good-bye Nachbar. He is falling in the rotation real fast.
