    Dude had a bad game...

Remember, Yao starts the season slow, just like Tmac and usually the Rockets... We've got a new starter, and the condiitoning of guys coming back from injuries (Yao/Tmac) isn't the greatest at this point of the season... it's early... If we had won, there would be less complaining on the board regards Yao...

We do have guys to guard both the roving scorers of Boston ie. Pierce/Allen, in Battier (dnp) and Artest, with Tmac as the safety. Question is whether we have anyone to guard KG and Perkins when they are hot. You have to live with Perkins hitting those outside shots, because he won't do that every night.

Ray Allen just got hot, Perkins was hitting, and one of our best defenders was DNP. Only lost by 4 with our best low-post scorer having an awful game. Not a bad showing despite it all.

The Problem with yao is if you front him, he is darn useless. he is to slow. to be fair, besides artest and mcgrady, we dont have any good post entry passers. so that dosent help. but yao's lack of speed and fumbling of entry passes dosent help.

yao hasn't had his normal elevation since coming back from injury, he has a long way to go till he is fully healthy, until then you can only hope he is consistent but don't expect him to be spectacular on a consistent basis till he gets the strength back in his legs.
everyone needs to relax, its one game early in the season.

With or without a ladder? :)

Seriously, Yao getting rim-blocked is like Angelina not getting a free drink at a night club - they obviously are not trying.

So my take on this decline of Yao's ability to jump is this: trade the Big Liability.

Last nights pathetic performance combined with his injury-prone-ness and his stretch of UNCLUTCHNESS last year (You know the stretch where he pretty much choked in the last few minutes of several games in a row) before his injury and his lack of ability to make a stamp on a game even when he puts up 25/10 has got me really down on Yao. This is a guy that can and should lead us to a ring (I think) but I'm having serious doubts right now. I know it's just 1 game but last nights performance brings back all these bad memories.

The funny thing is... actually It's not funny but the fact of the matter is this. Angelina could get a free drink WITHOUT trying. THe problem is Yao was TRYING to dunk and he still rim-checked. ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!

Well hell...I'm glad you posted this. Now I can save myself the time and effort of watching the rest of the season. So which team is flawless? We'll get matching jerseys and cheer them on until they lose a game.

I've been a member for some time now and the thing that gets me most frustrated is that posters start hating and complaining after one game.

Most notably Rafer and Tmac see most of this type of bashing.

Might as well call Ron Artest The Tough Mason...he shot 19% from the field last putting up brick after brick....

It is one game...crash this might be one of the worst threads ever created.

    That's why it's so pathetic.

Yao not finishing up a unchecked dunk is just like Angelina trying to get a free drink and not getting one.

I'm not 100% sure, but wasn't Yao either underneath the basket, off balanced, or a little bit of both? Hey, you would expect a 7'6" guy to be able to dunk from anywhere, but this guy isn't built like Amare Stoudamire. He has no lift and no jump.

ahh I missed the GARM during the regular season.....

Artest, Yao and Rafer had crappy crappy games and we were still in striking distance until the last moments of the game, after shooting 39% from the field, yep it's all over why bother with the rest of the season........

I just realized there were 2 missed dunks by Yao last night. The other one was BAD.

OK...my apologies for being all over the place. The "2nd missed dunk" I just watched was from the Dallas game. I go back to my original thought that he was a little off balanced.

I think Yao had talked about that to the chinese media before,it is because he is afraid of being called an offensive foul.

That's actually a pretty funny nickname. I will start using it every time Yao misses a shot :D. Life's too short not to have some fun people.

Yao being afraid is the problem.....the aggressor gets the calls.

That I agree. When it comes to fouls,Yao tend to over think things. He needs to be more aggressive to get to the next level.

Hakeem had bad nights. I'd hate to see this board after one of his mistake-prone games. "Trade Hakeem - he'll never get us past Patrick Ewing".

This discussion or threads always comes up every season when Yao has a bad game. So what is new? But when ever he has a good one (Which is often) all is always quiet. Haters always comes out from under their rock and proclaim the end of the world. So let them have their day and let them vent because it is the only good thing they have going in life.
