bamaslammer, I was just curious about something. You have a radio talk show in, what, Georgia? I'm guessing you're aiming at the "Rush" audience, from what you've said here. What'd I'd like to know is... are you just trotting out "talking points" for your show here and seeing what kind of reaction you get? Kinda seeing what might get your target audience interested and "in a lather"? The reason I ask is that I've read posts by you before that are nothing like what you've been putting out the last few days. I thought that might offer a bit of an explanation. Feel free not to answer, if you want... but it would explain a lot.
Dude, I doubt bamaslammer is using our posts against Bush as examples of a wide-spread liberal conspiracy to bring down the government. Only Rush is that dishonest.
To be honest with you, I don't do politics on my show, it is sports, purely sports. Mainly SEC and ACC football, with some h/s stuff thrown in there to boot. I would talk about the NBA, but no one really cares about that down here (especially since the Hawks are total garbage). Imagine Tony Kornheiser with callers and a drawl, and you have my show. In fact, this (cc.net) is the only place I go to interface with people on politics. Otherwise, I usually don't talk about them or share my viewpoints with others publicly.
I bet it's a blast *getting paid* to talk sports. That's like a dream job. Is it broadcast online anywhere? It would be a TRIP to hear you! I'm primarily a basketball fan, but I can totally see why people are indifferent to the Hawks. They're just painful to watch. For football, who do you like in the SEC? I'm a CUSA guy (go Frogs!), but the SEC is always interesting.
It is an awesome job. Mind you, my show is local and you can barely hear it 20 miles away from the studio, but I do love it. My picks for football are as follows: SEC East-Georgia West- LSU Georgia beats LSU for their second straight SEC crown despite losing their linebacking corps, offensive line and running back from a 1-loss team last season. They play in their second-straight BCS bowl. Richt wins his first NCAA championship in the next three years, guaranteed. C-USA I like Southern Miss, but with Mickey D'Angelo, their rising star at quarterback nursing a concussion, I think that might have torpedoed their chances for a Liberty Bowl berth. I really like TCU and their balance on both sides of the ball. They are a solid team. Big 12 Oklahoma by a landslide after watching them against a tough Alabama team. They have great wideouts, the fastest defense I've ever seen outside of the professional ranks and their quarterback play is solid. I like them in the Natl. Championship game. Big 10 Michigan will meet Oklahoma in the Natl. Championship game. I like their running game and defense. They made a believer out of me beating the tar out of a solid Notre Dame squad. That RB of theirs is my pick for the Heisman right now. I'm thinking of putting a poll on cc.net to see who y'all think I should vote for Heisman.
