I didn't contradict myself at ll. I'm not sure what lies you are talking about. The bible isn't designed to be nothing more than a set of rules or be a history or science text book. Perhaps based on your understanding of the bible I did. Based on my limited understanding I didn't contradict myself in that statement, which doesn't mean I don't contradict myself from time to time regarding the bible as my understanding changes. Common sense was actually a part of how it was written. If you looked the practices of the time, students were encouraged to ask their rabbis questions about standard religious practices and things. It was common sense they used in raising their questions. The purpose of the bible is to teach people to search and improve their spiritual well being.
Maybe something like Mother Theresa meets Mahatma Ghandi meets Martin Luther King, but certainly not just a regular guy like you and me.
This is not rational, reasonable or logical YugoRocketsFan. If you know enough about the bible to know for certain it is false then you should logically conclude that I am nothing like Jesus Christ. I don't know you, but I am very skeptical that you are anything like Jesus Christ either. Just consider the statement you made, the Jesus Christ in the bible is not like you and me He never made this claim in the bible so you must have other information. I made no statement about the bible but since you brought it up please put aside the issue of it's accuracy and read the story of Jesus, Then I ask you kindly to tell me what you think of the Jesus in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. I'm not trying to get you to change your opinion, just trying to get your opinion of Jesus based upon the same source I am using. Thanks
Jesus is a lot like me, let's review: 1. He knows that JVG screwed over VSpan 2. Jesus thinks that Dan Langhi could have been something special 3. Jesus believes in Von Wafer 4. Jesus is a great asset manager 5. Jesus thinks Aaron Brooks is the answer 6. Jesus signs his posts JJ Yep, I can see the similarities... DD and JJ
hmm...just curious.. Why is it so hard to believe that Jesus Christ knew everything about the Earth? t5here is much evidence from both the Bible and from science that demonstrates why God must exist and operate in dimensions of space and time beyond which we are confined. God could not have created the universe if he were only a part of it, the bible says the universe cannot contain him. at least ten dimensions of space existed at the creation of the universe. three of these dimensions .....plus time formed the space-time manifold that we can directly observe. The other six of these dimensions exist within the universe as incredibly compact dimensions of space. God must be able to operate in all of those ten dimensions, maybe more in order to have created the universe. A verse from the book of Hebrews suggests God created the universe out of some of the dimensions of space and time which are not visible to us. The universe was formed at God's command, so that what was seen was not made out of what was visible. (Hebrews 11:3) The God of the bible is invisible and cannot be seen except if He reveals Himself to us in a three-dimensional form that we can see. A being which exists in dimensions beyond our three spatial dimensions would be invisible to creatures like us that can only exist in the confines of our universe. but he said, "You cannot see my face, for no man can see me and live" (Exodus 33:20) God is every where at every moment.
Here, let me bold things that aren't confirmed to be fact, but are only theory and supposition: I'm not saying God doesn't exist, I'm saying there's no way to know if he does, what form "he" takes (if any), etc. etc. Likewise, there's no way to know that God doesn't exist. Thus, it's silly to think your point of view is the correct one. There are certain things that have more evidence than others (Big Bang Theory, Evolution, etc.), but everything is still far from confirmed fact. Hence, agnosticism FTW.
I found this part interesting. Didn't Jesus' disciples "cast lots" or "gamble" to decide on which man to choose as Judas' replacement? And wasn't land divided among the 12 tribes in the OT by "casting lots" too? If anything translating it as gambling would be seen as condoning gambling...
"Jesus is a lot like me, let's review:" VSpan walks on water Langhi will rise again The hairs on Wafer's head are numbered Judas Iscariot managed his money "Aaron you can't add one cubit to your stature" "and on his clothes a name is written...King of Kings and Lord of Lords" similarities?
The Bible is not a history or science book but it is a religious book (yes obvious sentence). The Bible is filled with stories, the 10 commandments, how the earth was made, etc. The Bible wasn't written by anybody, it was just a combination of passages that were taken from certain documents like Exodus, Genesis, Joshua, etc.
These are all notable icons but there are over 6 billion people on Earth, we all are equal, no human species can fly, shoot laser from eyes, walk on water, throw someone a mile away, etc. Jesus is a regular human being with no special powers.
