I agree, you have sacrificed greatly. From the looks of things, I would venture to say that your sex life probably SUCKS right now.

    Aw well, GO ROCKETS!

This seems like a cleverly disguised thread for the purposes of shameless self promotion. Dude, so what you're a rowdy. If I lived in Houston, I'd be at every game regardless of if I was a rowdy or not. Being at the game, doesn't mean you're dues are paid.

Here's my bet, the Rockets will make the playoffs this year AND will win at least 3/7 of those games in that series. If I'm wrong, I'll throw down $50 in the tip jar. If I'm right, I'll probably still throw down those $50...

Big difference between stupid and the truth. You don't have to read the posts I make if you don't like THE TRUTH BEING TOLD TO YOU. Plain and Simple.

So your saying the Red Rowdies are the only group of people making noise at the game? I think your inaccurate on that. Im not a red rowdie, and I dont want to be. I can afford my season tickets all on my own. Do I want to yell out 'im blind, im deaf, i wanna be a ref' on every call on the court? Nope.

But dont tell a fan that the only people screaming their lungs out at the games are the red rowdies. Im there every home game just like you and just because your a$$ is screaming scripted dialogue doesnt make you a bigger fan than anyone else.

and to piggy back on that....banging on that stupid drum for 48 minutes is more annoying than supportive of the team...just sayin.

Explain this to me then. In a close game in the 4th quarter, why are most of the so called FANS sitting down in their seats instead of inspiring their team to play harder by standing up and cheering for their team? I never said the Rowdies are the only ones making the noise at the games, did I? I am stating that they are the only ones you can count on regardless of score. I have seen people get LOUD for Free T-Shirts and FREE THROWS, that is it. Other than that, the arena is as loud as a church mouse.

No, I'm the guy who, when I can go to a game, uses my hard earned cash to pay for my ticket. I'm the guy who dishes out 200 bucks a year to watch rockets games only 2.5 hours away in Austin.

I am not the guy who gets free tickets to games and acts like I'm a better fan than anyone else who doesn't.

I didn't say you were a douche because you're a rowdy, but because of your ridiculous post.

It takes 2.5 hours to get to the Toyota Center from Austin?....blahhhh. I'm moving to Austin in January and have a couple of games left in my package. What part of Austin do you live in? I'm wondering cause I'll be coming from north part near Round Rock. I hope it won't be a 3 hour drive.

My perception of your average rowdy (and this guy is not helping) is sort of like a "ricer" in the street racing scene. They think painting their car yellow, throwing stickers all over the side, jamming fog lights behind the homemade chicken wire grill on their front bumper, and riding around town buzzing their coffee can exhaust makes them more of an enthusiast than someone whose car is functionally superior but visually understated.

    Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

Your post suggests that the group you belong to are the only ones standing up in a close games in the 4th quarter. Although there are many fans that are sitting down, there are still plenty (besides the red rowdies) that are on their feet hoping for a win. To pull a perception of the Rowdies being better than other fans at the Toyota Center who are actually on their feet as well as you your group is where your incorrect.

Houston is a corporate city, there are corporate big wigs at the games who dont give a damn if we win or lose. But not all 17,880 fans in the crowd are sitting down in the 4th quarter. Especially during a close game. I can guarantee you that.

That is because there are 8,000 that doesn't sell and or are NO SHOWS. And of the 10,000 that do show, at least 8,000 are sitting down in the fourth in a close game. I never said the Rowdies were better than other fans, all I said is they are more passioniate than the rest. Nobody can argue that.

Firstly - GREAT IDEA for a thread, unfortunately it has taken a turn or the worse.

Secondly - Just because you're part of some super exclusive club that cheers the Rockets doesn't mean you're more of a Rockets fan then anyone else. Just because you can scream and shout louder then anyone doesn't mean you're more of a Rockets fan then anyone else. That said with your first post saying you had 'nothing to prove' then why post anything? What's the point of telling everyone you're a Red Rowdy when it clearly has nothing to do with the thread?

Thirdly - I'm not a Red Rowdy, in fact I live in Australia. For as long as I can remember, before there was any NBA coverage here I would watch the boxscore play by plays and constantly refresh every 5 seconds on NBA.com for every Rockets game. I'm even trying to organise a group of friends from here to make a trip to the US just so I can see a Rockets game in person (It's hard because they're all Celtics fans tut tut).

I love seeing the Rowdys on television and I do enjoy seeing the support they give, but making assumptions that just because you don't scream and shout your lungs out at the Toyota Center means that you're a bandwagon fan and 'leave in the third quarter' is pretty ignorant.
