    IRS The Cutting Edge
    120 Minutes
    Yo MTV Raps

Those are the best shows in the history of the channel.

I think IRS The Cutting Edge and 120 minutes are interchangeable as numbers 1 and 2, but it doesn't receive as much hype, so I put it at number 1.

Also agree with the Real World mention... seemed to kick start reality TV.

Surprised the Unplugged series didn't get a mention. Lots of really entertaining moments...

/end of thread. This show was just unreal looking back at it, all the folks on that show are now firmly entrenched in the entertainment biz.

I too am surprised. Good call. It's funny to think back now to my teens & twenties when MTV actually had stuff worth watching.

Thing that sucks tho is all the music and musical guests on the show have been taken out due to copy write reasons.

"I wanna dip my balls in it!!"
"I'm Doug and I'm ouuuuuuuutttttttttaaa 'ere!!"

I would say Amp was a great show in the later 90's.

    1. Jackass (guilty pleasure, still watch it whenever it comes on....)

Still remember watching 120 Minutes on Sunday nights so I could impress my friends at school on Monday with all the new bands I discovered.

Like others have said, Real World was innovative television when it first came out. That season in SF (with Pedro and Puck) was the best. Used to look forward to it every week. The season in LA was good too. With the country singer, the cop, the surfer, the irish music critic...

    Post Modern MTV
    120 Minutes

They also had a short-lived program that tried to create a music-video version of Club Mixes - like a more mainstream TV version of Club 6400. The show was fairly interesting, but didn't last long.

When I was in high school, one of my buddies got caught having some alone time while watching Club MTV. Wubba, wubba, wubba.

I used to watch Headbanger's Ball regularly. But most of the time spent watching was criticizing the hair bands while waiting for an Iron Maiden video to come on.
