Just some that jump to mind: Braveheart Memento Gladiator Pulp Fiction Reservoir Dogs The Two Towers Silence of the Lambs Godfather I Godfather II Fallen
Here's a few of my all time favorites... The Shawshank Redemption American Beauty Jacob's Ladder Escape from Sobibor Fire in the Sky Chariots of Fire Outlaw of Josie Wales Quiz Show Whose life is it anyway? Fargo Full Metal Jacket La Confidential The Vanishing Ghandi Titanic The Insider Run Lola Run Apollo 13 Pulp Fiction Remains of the Day Terminator II Aliens (Part II) Jaws Close Encounters of the Third Kind Gattaca Casino Saving Private Ryan X-Men Elizabeth Election Requiem of a Dream
Favorite movie of all-time? I've always been partial to Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Die Hard (although LOTR is making a hard charge). Best movie of all-time? Gotta go with Citizen Kane. Shawshank is a great, great movie, but it's NOT the best movie ever made. And Titanic is nowhere close to the best.
That list blows. I firmly believe that the best movie of all time is: "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" This is pretty much the only movie that I can watch over and over, and be entertained by every single scene.
My three all-time favorite movies are The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Apocolypse Now(Redux of course) and Das Boot.
Man! I have yet to see Das Boot...been wanting to though. Another decent German War Film (spoken english) is The Blue Max (1966). It's not great, but it's good.
Yeah, that's a great one too. Most fans consider Outlaw and GBU to be the top two Eastwood films. GBU is the best of the "spaghetti" westerns and Outlaw is usually considered to be the top "American" Eastwood western (although a strong case could be made for Unforgiven as well). Which is best depends entirely on what you want out of a western.
Nope, I'll keep an eye out for it. "Once Upon a Time in the Old West" is another one that's pretty awesome. Also, "Trinity is Still my Name" is a very interesting take on the western genre. Don't bother with the other two Trinity movies, though.
