My Chemical Romance and Muse were fantastic...I feel inclined to say how much I loved Muse since they are a little more 'out there' but the truth is both bands owned. Knights of Cydonia was one of the most amazing live songs I have ever seen. And on MCR Blood, Teenagers, and Mama were just amazing. Oh and Cancer. And Helena. And I don't love you. crap the whole thing was sweet.
Last year, I sat 6th row center at Jones Hall for Elvis Costello performing with the Houston Symphony Orchestra. It was phenominal. PS...to me, there is a distinct difference between a concert and a club show, and it has to do with the size of the place. Seeing a band at Walters on Washington or the Continental Club is a club show. Seeing a band at Verizon Wireless is a concert.
kings of leon put on one helluva show here in houston a few months ago.... best show i've seen in awhile. the black crowes, drive by truckers, and robert randolph show at the backyard last july was great, as was the semi meters reunion show i caught at jazzfest this year.... that show was a blast. hopefully the widespread panic show i'm seeing tomorrow night in vegas gets on the list... having the crystal method open should be interesting.
I went to that too. Megadeth was good. I am going to Ozzfest in S.A. next month. I just want to see LORDI !!!
Bring Back the Guns opened for the Toadies a couple months back. Pretty awful. The Toadies, however, rocked the house.
Ditto Flaming Lips for best recent concert. I'm not necessarily a fan of the band, just some songs. But I saw them on Austin City Limits and figured this would be a good show to check out. No regrets, it was one of the most fun, original concerts I've seen. I would even recommend their show to people who don't know who they are.
Tossup between Wilco on March 17, 2006 and Sigur Ros on February 14, 2006. Both concerts were at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
yes - ive seen them probably 10 times since about 92 and that was the best show i had ever seen from them, which is surprising considering the last couple times i had seen them before that they were not very good, including at coachella in 04, but they really took it to a new level of zaniness at acl. i saw some pretty good stuff at sxsw last march - the polyphonic spree in the austin convention center and immediately afterwards the good, the bad and the queen at stubbs (that was a quality 2 hours!). jandek at the downtown central prebyterian church. it was last october, but juana molina at the parish was probably the best act ive seen in a couple years. check out this short vid - ive never seen someone make music like this - a true one-woman band.

What do you think of the new album? It leaked a week ago. Its very dark in comparison with their first two albums.
