Guinness has always been my favorite.....it was great to go to the storehouse when they were just starting to celebrate their 250. Another beer I always seem to find myself ordering when I'm in a Mexican restaurant is Bohemia.....really like it for some reason. When I was in high school, I got on this kick of drinking Henry Weinhards........which I don't think they import to Texas anymore. In college, I liked free cold beer.............preferrably through a funnel.
Dinkel Acker Lager is good .....so is Broken Hill. But for local Mexican beer, I like Dos XX Amber. For fun take the WORLD BEER TOUR DD
I hate Coors. You ever notice how their entire ad campaigns are always about how cold their beer is and never about taste? Cold as the Rockies! Wide-Mouth Vent! Did we mention its cold? Its really cold! Is so cold! Wow is it cold! As for the Yuengling, I must say I have heard of it and heard it spoken of fondly, but never seen it anywhere... do you know where I could purchase it?
I don't fancy beers and drank only to be sociable, but as a bartender throughout the 80s I tried everything available. Even went around the world a few times. Nothing really empressed...but that was just me and my taste. Here is a history of my beer drinking. These aren't favorites or what I think are best all time, but what I drank the most. 70s-PBR 80s-Coors Light 90s-Bud Light 00s-(America) - Shiner Brock (Bud Light if Shiner is not available) 00s-(Mexico) - Negra Modelo edit: Negra Modelo is the ONLY beer I seem to look forward to...like frozen margaritas in Cozumel.
I don't think it's readily available west of the Mississippi. It is a good beer, though. Coors Light is crap. I'd drink it to rehydrate, but that's about it.
LOL....just finished a hard workout and swim and my mind and muscles aren't working to well. cest la vie, eh?
When you're talking about best beer, you really need to narrow it down to best brown ale or IPA or stout or whatever... there are so many different good beers depending on what you're interested in. There's a tiny brewery in Santa Rosa, California that makes a beer I love, called Pliny the Elder. I'm also a big fan of the Oak Aged Yeti, made by Great Divide, and Dogfish Head's 90 Minute IPA is fantastic. For something I can find at most bars, I'll go Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale. Bud, Miller, Coors, etc. shouldn't even be called beer.
I live in GA, and you'd spend more then it is worth. Looking at the website, all the distributors are on the East coast. I've got to try this Saint Arnold brewery next time I am in Houston.
Man, I tried the same thing with Heineken, but never seemed to like it for some reason. I don't see how people actually enjoy that beer. Anyways, here is a courtesy mention I did not see.
