Gotcha. Seems like it was a bit of a misunderstanding on both of our parts and I agree with what you just said. ESPN is TMZ anyways; it is annoying they are more focused on Zo than Simmons's crazy start so far. Easy way to sum up how well Simmons has been playing: Simmons right now is a great NBA player, whereas the other rooks this year are great NBA rookies.
Dare I say Lebron-like ? Or Lebron-lite? Lebron was more freaky physically, but skill-wise they are quite close as rookies.
Simmons me a lot of Magic Johnson and that's saying a lot since I still think Magic is the GOAT. He's tall and creates from the paint. He even has the little jump hook.
What Ben Simmons has been doing is special. Probably the best rookie season since Duncan. 50 percent shooting and almost 8 assists is just sick.
It's pretty sad that the Lonzo Ball thread is like 20 pages and Ben Simmons, who is having a Magic Johnson like rookie season, only has 2 pages.
He is going to be really good. Would guess he will be a top 5 player in a few years. Very well could be an MVP best player in the league type season. One of my more enjoyable watches.
Probably because the Lakers are always on national TV even though they're terrible. They should replace all Lakers games on national TV with the 76ers instead. Embiid and Simmons are so much fun to watch.
I think you are misunderstanding the situation here. Lavar Ball is nearly a non-factor compared to Magic Johnson. I literally have no clue who the former is. He seems like an old has been with Charles Barkley level intelligence trying to ride his son's talent to being pertinent.
He doesn't have the grace and finesse of a Grant Hill or flash of a Magic....i'd say LeBron like. He just kind of long strides his way in to the basket. Not a pretty player to watch, but gets it done. Putting in work for my fantasy squad!
Man I hope he averages a triple double and asks why he didn't win MVP. Cuz that is the criteria right?
Let's put it this way...If I'm starting a team, the first player I pick is Magic. Ben has a lot of Magic in him, but there's a bit of Karl Malone and Elgin Baylor too. He's criminally underrated, right now. If he stays healthy, BS easily has a chance to become a top 10 player of all time...maybe top 5.
AGREE.. The guy is impressive, but I think his game is kind of boring aesthetically. We have articles of Harden not being fun to watch, but I tune into Philly games wondering why I am not entertained by the eventual ROY. I would much rather watch Harden than Simmons.
