Well Stoops has no class when he runs up the score in the final minutes of the game. And to compare Hybl to Simms...I'm not even going there, The Cat took care of that one... Get a life and quit your b****ing, there are UT AND OU fans who talk crap, but that doesn't mean a small group represents the whole...
Yeah, a lot of UT graduates settle in College Station when they're finished on the 40 Acres. Wait, I have that backwards.
Almost every horn fan I've heard is just as arrogant(sp?) and mean as the next horn fan. Quite a bit of crap talking for not winning the last 2 years, eh? IF you had read what the situation was you wouldn't say that. But then again, the arrogance thing comes in...
Does anyone remember that I got banned at Hornfans? Well, Last month, I used a very old computer of mine in Houston and created a new username with a new e-mail address. So I am back on board, for now. Look out for me, hornfans, I might just speak my mind!
Have you ever visited this site? If not, then take a look around... http://www.soonerfans.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=true We're all equaly proud about our teams, some just express their pride for their alma matter in different ways. I'm not one of the cocky ones, and I do post at both boards, but I don't troll the OU board looking for a reaction...just looking for interesting viewpoints from our most hated rivals. Hook 'em!
I've heard they do weird things with sheeps down in College Station, but wow, porcupines too? A flaming porcupine no less, boy am I glad I chose to go to UT instead.... PHEW!
That's got to be possibly the stupidest thing I've ever read on this BBS. You don't think Texas fans think the same thing about OU? They have the same evidence to back it up... they can just pull up a few random samplings off a BBS and claim that as the majority. Also, coming from someone who despises UT, calls Chris Simms "chrissy", looks to downgrade UT at every possible opportunity, and thinks Nate Hybl can win a championship... it wouldn't exactly take a lot to appear to you as biased. By the way, I have another question... have you noticed that almost every fan of another team (see manny, nyk, etc.) without a bias for or against either team has come out and called you a homer? Of course, I guess they are all out to get OU too... damn conspiracy. Also, I am so ****ing tired of the last two years argument. These teams are entirely different. The all-time head to head matchup, which is ridiculously in favor of Texas, means as much as the last two years. If the last two years give you reason for arrogance, the last 80 or so give us reason for arrogance. Since they have nothing to do with the teams this year, it's the same importance.
Well, I don't remember what you said to get banned, but if it was anything like your thread a couple of days ago here (you said you know Simms can't get it done-- after two "big" games nonetheless), can you really blame them? Hornfans has a disclaimer upon joining that specifically states that bashing college players is unacceptable, and rightfully so. Simms has had two bad "big" games his entire college career. Before anyone says anything, the Oregon game in 2000 was not a bad game. Simms had two of his picks off of hail mary/desperation type throws, and had three touchdowns dropped in the end zone. He also had a pass to the one yard line. Looking at TD's and picks is skewed... it's just a simple way for fans to try and prove a point and to avoid looking at the game completely. In that game, Texas moved the ball up and down the field consistently, scored plenty of points, etc. I'm sure it's Chris' fault too that BJ and Roy dropped those balls in the end zone. Then, of course, it's only a big game if you lose. CU was a top 15 team when they came to Austin, and when Chris Simms sliced up that defense. CU did improve later in the season, but it was the offense and the power running game that did the improving, not the defense. If CU in Austin wasn't a big game, CU in Dallas wasn't a big game. It's the same defense, both in important situations. That was a big game, as was the game at Kyle Field, where the BCS was on the line (at the time) and Simms had to play against one of the toughest defenses and one of the toughest home crowds in the country. Brett Favre threw six INT's in one playoff game. He was also embarrassed by the Cowboys in the NFC Championship game the year before Green Bay made the Super Bowl. There's one example of how ridiculous it is to try and say you know anything based on two games. Anyway, to get back to the original point... if you look at historical numbers, everyone has had bad games. Some great quarterbacks have had a number of bad games. If you went in there trying to claim that you knew Simms' career was a failure after two games, that sounds like a strong personal bias. If that's not bashing... it's pretty close.
disclaimer :I'm gonna start dissin horn fans on their overall football craziness, arogance, and stupidity. But as some of y'all senior members might know, I feel the absolute same way, if not more, for aggie fans in general. Again, this is my Opinion on what I feel about Longhorn fans in General. I'm not saying every fan. story time: I'm visiting a buddy in UT and we're chillin just watchin tv. Cedric Benson walks in to say what's up. That was the first time I met him...didn't know what he looked like before, didn't really even know who he was. So they're chatting, I'm snacking, and then on the tv is this local news sports report or something and they're interviewing some UT student just getting a layman opinion on the last football game. The student says something to the sort of how Cedric should've got the ball more and Cedric this and talkin like he knows Cedric and how he plays and stuff. Cedric took exception to being called by his first name on tv by some guy acting like he's his friend (it was that obvious). My boy took exception to how the guy on tv acted like he knew how to run a college football offense. He then went on this spiel about how stupid UT football fans are and how crazy they are. Always talking like they know what plays should be called like they're coaches or something. He said students watch/go other games just to scout the other team ahead of time...like they think it'd make a difference what they do can effect the team. I then butt-in with my spiel about how crazy stupid the fans here at A&M are too and probably more. ------------------------- Come to think of it...mentioning that story didn't really make any points. Well, maybe a couple. I truly think that it is ignorant to ignore the fact that many many many longhorn fans (and ag fans) jock all football players waaayyyy too much. You can be a player who's an ass, then you'd be an ass and I'd despise being around you. You can be a player and a nice guy, then I'd like hangin with you. Sooo many people around here and in UT love to hang on nuts of someone just cause they're a football player. Guys and girls. I think that's just stupid. It's the wrong way to think about people. And this attitude can apply to other things too: like people with money vs people without money; people's race; people's backgrounds. I think this attitude is a form of stupidity that is root of many of the world's problems (along with selfishness and greed and other things). I know it might seem like I'm making a big leap in logic here. (Kagy would/could say it's due to my horrible Liberal Arts education at A&M. I would counter with saying my liberal arts knowledge foundation started with philosophy classes at UT, which I loved). I know this is a long rant...but it just irritates me a lot. Like I'm thinking of this one time I was chillin with some of my boys in Jester East 3rd floor and this ruckus is going on in the hallway. There is this fine fine fine ass blonde white girl butt-naked in the hallway banging on the door of this dude who's room she just got thrown out off. It was a joke, and she wasn't acting too upset. Her clothes was still in the room and my boy told me a lot of the guys have banged her already before. Anyhow, the dude was just playin with her...but I feel this is a very humiliating degrading type of way to treat chicks...I don't think it seemed too wrong at the time, cause again, she was kinda laughing in a "comon guys" sort of way. But then later, I get told that she was crying he heart out to her friend. Basically she sleeps with the players cause it raises her self esteem. But she goes home and feels like crap. Now of course, this is an extreme example...but never the less, I'm sure there's a bunch of y'all longhorns males who'd wanna get layed by the players too...not in the literal sense, but in the sense of fascination/obsessiveness/overjocking. Longhorn and Ags fans, in general, should stop acting like their teams are the best in the world, like their cities are the best, like they know everything about football, and the overall hatred and stupidity. I apologize for the spelling and grammar errors, and for the long rant. It is late.
How are the teams entirely different? I'm more worried about our coaching staff-which is pretty much the same-than our players.
Yes, this is a phenomenon limited to Austin and College Station. I'm sure Maurice Clarett's a big nobody in Columbus, OH right now. The same goes for armchair quarterbacks and Monday-morning coaches. Only Texas has that problem. I've never heard a Michigan fan criticize the playcalling. I don't harbor any illusions about the intellectualism of this BBS, but it really saddens me that my favorite topic in the world-- college football-- brings out a new, deeper level of stupidity here. There are posts in this thread that are so stupid they should be displayed in a Crayon font. Perhaps we should all dispense with the attempts to find a universal truth of college football fan behavior via generalization.
It is not any stupider than you saying constantly year after year that Simms will win the Heisman. I'm not just pulling a few random samplings, there has been 1, maybe 2 horn fans that I've ever heard that isn't arrogant and/or mean. "We're Texas", whoopty-do!Does that make you any better or something? Wow, great job Cat! You figured it out, I'm a homer! I guess calling Chris Simms a Heisman candidate every single year does not make you a homer then though, since he certainly is! And these teams are NOT entirely different. Wow, we lost a great, great player, and a great, great leader on defense, but you lost 2 top 5 picks as well. You seem to forget about Williams and Jammer when you talk about losing players
