I have not been the greatest Battier supporter in the past and I was 1 of the many that was upset when we traded for him...but...I would not trade Shane for anyone realistic unless it was a favor to him to put him on a championship team if we thought we didn't have the pieces. He's just has too much character, smarts and D to trade for anyone realistic.

no way we get an all star for shane. id be ok with giving shane a chance for something bigger, and us getting younger and more athletic in return.

    Diaw for Battier?

Why? what do you accomplish in that trade? Diaw would do nothing but shake up team chemistry and probably swing our win/loss count by 2, maybe.

I'm all about moving players at the appropriate time, but there is no use in moving players for the sake of moving them.

    HOU gets S.Jax, Randolph
    POR gets Battier, Dorsey/Cook
    GS gets Rudy, Blake, Outlaw

    Lowry
    McGrady
    Ariza
    Scola
    Andersen

    Brooks
    -Chase/White/Talor-(very limited minutes)or Jackson+Ariza at wing Positoins.
    Jackson
    Landry
    Randolph

Our starting lineup is balanced in off/def. Bench can run ALL DAY!! if Jackson is too slow then do Lowry+AB combo!!

because right now it doesn't look like Portland is willing to work a deal with us centered around Rudy for Battier...I think they just wanna count on Batum developing into the next Battier with offense..

Considering Randolph is on the Grizzlies, how would this trade work? Or are you talking about Shavlik Randolph?

I like this trade, but I wonder if Golden State would go for it, given that Anthony Randolph has so much potential...

With Morey always talking about how the leaders and captains of this team are Luis and Shane, I find it highly unlikely that we deal either of them...

It's a no brainer. Why do you want to trade off your new found and old leaders?
We've got no choice. Trade assets are the young players. Period.
Only if a high quality all star potential player who happens to be young comes along, I could imagine he would package one of the duo in a trade but only then and after he would have weighed the options.

That's true, but don't forget that Morey is smart as well. He knows that without Yao and with McGrady still unsure, we will have pretty much no offensive weapons.

Battier is a great guy, great leader and of course best defender we have in the game. He is a great missing piece for a team who is competing for a championship. He was ideal for us past 2 year, but now when our chances for winning anything are gone, we don't need Shane.

    That's how it is.
