im just sayin Gortat is kind overpaid, i mean hes big and tall, and show that he can play some defense, who knows if he has to play 35min what kind of player he'll be. if he signed 4.5mil per yr contract i'll like him but he had the full mle thats kinda overpaid

    How About...

    Houston keeps Battier
    Cleveland keeps James
    NO keeps Paul
    SAC keeps Martin

and we don't shop somebody just for the sake of causing a change.

As far as this whole 'We won't trade Battier for anything less than an established star' business, well, here's the thing:

    - Only contenders looking for that 'final piece' would want to trade for Battier.

    - A contender looking for that 'final piece' isn't going to want to trade away an established star.

Unless we realize that Shane and Ariza on the floor together kinda takes away ball movement and scoring, even if Lowry is given more minutes and shows some prowess as a point guard (ABrooks is more of a scorer).

Having Battier is having another coach on the floor, great leadership, but get something for him now while the getting's good....UNLESS trading other current Rox for new ones settles out the future roster a bit.

U battier fans are insane u think this guys overestimating fernandez lol u are wildly overestimating shane remember he couldnt even start for memphis battier might be the most overated player in the lg battiers a good role player but hes not a legit starter its amazing that u guys are a hyping up a guy who cant dribble cant score and needs a ridiculous amount of time to get a shot off battier doesnt suck but hes not good either hes mediocre. Fernandez actually has a ton of upside playing behind roy stunted his growth if he comes to the rockets he has a great chance to be the next ginobili.

McGee's the one player in that trade I really want! I like Young and Crittenton too (especially Young), but relatively speaking, players like that are a dime a dozen compared to a legit 7 footer with athleticism. And as much as I like Young, if we really wanted to add that kind of player we could just sign Wafer. I'm not saying Wafer is as good as Young (not saying he isn't either, I'm not really sure tbh), but their games do seem pretty similar to me.

Battier plus a role player for Kevin Martin straight up in a heartbeat, but for Rudy? HELL NO, what's with all the Rudy hype.

How about Shane to Golden State. Don Nelson has some misfits over there, yet very talented misfits. Battier could come in and be the true veteran leadership they need. Don Nelson probably needs to do something to save his job. He is still the GM over there, right?

I propose Battier for Anthony Randolph plus bad contract. If GS wants to compete this might be a possibility. I think both teams win with our end being more risky.

Did he receive this "one of the most talented guys in the league" due to his play last year or was this label put on him b/c of his summer league performance against summer squad scrubs? I honestly don't know. I didn't follow him last year.

100% agree. Regarding the O.P, yes Kevin Martin is a near all-star however the trade you proposed will be hard to happen. What incentive do the King's have for making this trade. Unless they plan on moving Tyreke Evans to the 2 spot.
