Fair point on not giving up on the rox, i never will, i put up with copping so many bag outs from friends during 05-06 season, and im not gunna give up on them now... but i wouldnt compare the rockets failure at the moment to a cancer patient and donating money to the cause...u kinda contradicted to urself, coz u made it sound like rockets are a charity and then u said u cant buy a championship..although i get what u mean..
Come now. A true fan can be irritated with his/her team and still be sitting in the driver's seat of the bandwagon. I still get irritated by the stupid stuff my younger sister does, but I still love her because she's family. So, just because fans here vent at the Rockets' stupid stuff doesn't mean they love the team less than those who close their eyes to the faults being exhibited by the Rockets.
It's all going to turn out for the best come June... They're still learning the system. It takes some time. What's the point in getting angry? <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2DnUxLISFcA&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2DnUxLISFcA&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
I don't get fans these days. There are no true fans anymore. If there is, it's a small minority. What is up for hoping that certain plays play bad? You're suppose to support everyone on the team but there is no much division within our players. There's a group that hates Skip, a group that hates Francis, one that hates T-Mac, one that hates Yao, the bring-back-JVG group, ect. I can honestly go on all day. This forum has become unbearable to view after a loss. And apparently when we win once, it can change everything. Basing your theories or arguments based on one game is just ridiculous.
EXACTLY. T-Mac is a quitter (could have quit when yao went down last year, but instead he stepped him game up and carried the team--but that was last year so it's forgotten), yao is a pansy (yao hasn't been playing well lately, but just a couple of games ago he dunked Boki into the basket and he was Yaozilla--but that was 3 games ago, so it's forgotten), RA can't coach (even though he's been to the finals twice and coached some very very good Sacramento teams, which is more than anyone can say for JVG--but that wasn't this year so no one remembers), blah, blah, blah. Does the team deserve to be criticized right now? Absolutely. But some of the ridiculous crap being post here is mostly people just venting their frustrations I guess. I look at it this way. If you read the game thread once the game is over, you see the same people swinging like a pendulum with their comments: "So and so totally SUCKS, oh wait, they just hit a key 3, thank god we have them on our team, etc." The same phenomenon is happening right now with the various stupid threads being created. We just have to win a few in a row, and all will be right with the clutchbbs.
This is one the one thing about the current squad I can't stomach. We've always played with hustle/heart/passion/whatever cliche word you want to throw out there. At least when we were losing then, you'd see players busting their asses, not just trying to earn contracts, but because they took pride in their work and loved the game. Tell me who seems genuinely interested out there? Maybe Stevie, but that's about it. No one else seems to care, they're just doing a job.
players have to prove themselves to fans before fans can embrace them. you dont just slurp up whatever joke of a basketball team management has put on the court. do you think knicks fans love their team right now? i dont wanna compare this team to the knicks but the knicks are known for their "real, diehard, knowledgable" fans, and most all of them hated Francis for his lack of bball IQ.
Definitely!! I still believe we can do something big... 60 games left, there's still a lot of basketball to play
This is true. I'm not jumping off the bandwagon and will be posting positives if they can get this thing turned around and they deserve it. But after consistently NOT competing, or even trying for that matter...is unacceptable. Quitting on your team is unacceptable. We know (or at least think we know) what this team could be if they just gave a good effort. I don't think it's too much to ask, and we as fans deserve to be unhappy.
There is no bandwagon to jump in. But hey, I am still watching all the games. It is a torture, but I will do that until we are statistically eliminated from the playoffs.
Critics are not the bandwagon jumpers or fairweather fans. Bandwagon fans just disappear when the team is struggling and come back when they're winning. The people here crying out for changes are HERE because they care so much about the team it drives them insane to see the Rockets at 0.500 and seemingly directionless. Blind fandom isn't something to be proud of - you don't want to teach the organization that we'll be happy with a team out of contention. Had we stayed the course with isoball, it would have been a disaster. The fans left the arena, and the team had to respond and make changes to what had become a crummy product. I have tickets to a little more than a quarter of the home games. Typically, I add on more and attend almost half. I absolutely won't do so as long as the team looks the way it does. They aren't losing cause they're young. They're losing because there are serious problems in the way they are assembled. No leadership + a couple of Stephon Marbury impersonators = bad news. Evan
Exactly, while I don't agree with a lot of what being said on the board, those fans have their right to say it and dissect the team. Real fans don't know there is even a wagon to jump off of. I'm still holding out hope for this season but want to see some improvement and these last 2 games seem like massive steps backward.
We were blown out by the lowly Sixers by 30 points, and a 25 point swing in the 2nd half by the half healthy Raptors. Our starters are losing confidence and worse competitivness. This is not just these two games. Ever after the Suns game, you can just see it on the court. You have to grasp the seriousness of this situation. Where is the panic button?
Posted this in another thread Man Im ashamed to have rockets fans like most of the people on this board. Yes you have a right to frustrated and furious w/ the team's play as of late, but to lose faith in the rox like most have is just pathetic. This is a professional team that is in a transition period that will make some noise soon. All we need is a decent winning streak (6-7 games, which is very possible) and guess what we will be several games over .500 again. Even if we suck the whole season and click the last 1 1/2 month and go on a nice run and sneak into the playoffs as the 8th seed I still believe we can get out of the first round. Do you really believe a rox team clicking on all cylinders cant beat a first seeded Spurs team? We match up well with them and seriously believe we could take them. Even our injury plagued season we sucked so badly and still had a chance to sneak into the playoffs. Be patient and just sit and watch, dont lose faith in the team like most here have.
