But this president may not be in much of a hurry to accept Baker's ideas about that — or much else. Asked if Baker would help implement the report, a spokesman for Mr. Bush said, "Jim Baker can go back to his day job." http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/12/05/eveningnews/main2232203.shtml
basso I'm sure you’re frustrated because nothing short of total, all out war would be acceptable to you but you know that's never going to happen. Dam that must be frustrating
"Some reports are issued and just gather dust. And truth of the matter is, a lot of reports in Washington are never read by anybody. To show you how important this one is, I read it." -- President Bush, at a press conference, on the Iraq Study Group report.
Tis better to be a "surrender monkey" than a bushmonkey.... On top of that, anyone who reads the NY Post needs to seriously consider pulling their head out of their ass.
Great. This fills me with confidence... ________________ Bush, No Longer ‘In Denial’ President Bush had a quick response when a British Broadcasting Co. journalist accused him of being “still in denial about how bad things are in Iraq.” “It’s bad in Iraq,” Mr. Bush retorted immediately, drawing laughter. “That help?” During a joint press conference with visiting British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Mr. Bush faced a barrage of hostile questions about the Baker-Hamilton commission report about Iraq, which amounted to a searing indictment of virtually every aspect of the administration’s handling of Iraq. The two leaders tried to stress that they remained committed to some form of victory in Iraq, as well as a new effort to rejuvenate the stalled Mideast peace process. Still, the two leaders had sharply different responses to the eagerly-anticipated Iraq Study Group report. Asked about the document’s dire assessment of the situation in Iraq, which the report said was “grave” and “deteriorating,” Mr. Blair said he was in full agreement. “I think the analysis of the situation is not really in dispute,” the British leader said. Mr. Bush, by contrast, made clear that he wasn’t likely to implement the report’s full list of proposals. “I don’t think Jim Baker and Lee Hamilton expect us to accept every recommendation,” Mr. Bush said today. Messrs. Baker and Hamilton, for their part, have repeatedly said that their recommendations were a package that needed to be adopted in full. – Yochi J. The sports page in all NYC newspapers is fun to read....especially when the Yanks, Mets, Giants, Jets, Knicks and Rangers are struggling. The sports page in the NY Post is okay....the rest of the paper is fishwrap.
Page Six is ok, lol. It's really only the dreaded black goop you get on your hands in the morning from the Post that need be derided!
It was twenty years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play They've been going in and out of style But they're guaranteed to raise a smile. So may I introduce to you The act you've known for all these years, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band!
So has anyone read the whole thing? I love recommendation 23 Yeah! Like that will ever happen. In fact, a lot of the report seems only to be suggestions that would work in a perfect world, but will probably never see the light of day. Overall I would say it's a disappointing report.
