I'm not gonna get into any arguements here, but OMG, Old Man Rock, why didn't you just research that email article at snopes before posting it? I mean, at least they have quoted sources and links for verification. You just posted that thing without doing any reasearch and now you're getting pissed at people besacuse they can easily refute it...? What did you expect?

Sometimes I just don't understand this forum.

Of all the accusations with no traction, I've always liked this one. If I had a poor half-brother, I think it'd be an affront to his dignity to send him money he didn't ask for. Certainly, if I was poor and had a rich half-brother in another country who sent me money unsolicited, I'd be embarassed, ashamed, and pissed off. And, from the interview with this half-brother that I read, he seems content with his funds and optimistic about his future.

Moreover, if he actually sends anything, the loonies will spouts different set of crap like funding African terrorists, Obama and nepotism, African root, funneling American money, etc etc.

The loonies just want to talk. They have nothing substantial to offer so any random smear will do. And then they wonder why the sane people within their party want nothing to do with them.

I'll respond to this since you are being respectful. First I didn't get it from snopes I got it from a google search "obama Lies". which came up with http://www.freerepublic.com/ I didn't post the link and everything in it because I didn't agree with everything.

Secondly I did research what I posted. There were 68 Lies and I only posted what I had researched or heard before. Obviously it is not absolute but I have read enough to know Obama is not all he claims to be.

My main point for the post was to show that no matter what I said about Obama and no matter how true, most people would spin it and Obama would come out clean, Teflon Man. That is exactly what happen. Forget that there might be some truth in the post. There is no link, thus there is no truth. So be it.

Honestly most of it is not that significant to me. But the 2 things that did bother me the most were that he had an opportunity to help children in chicago as the distribution man of a 150 million dollars and their test scores did not improve. Which showed me he was either incompetent on knowing how to best help these children or he used the money to promote another agenda.

And the fact that he did meet his half brother once and knew his conditions but did not lift a hand. In my mind once was more than enough to help him. I have helped many with less a connection. It's not about race or party it's about character and I don't trust Obama's. I would rather see JVG coaching the Rockets than Obama as our president. ;)

P.S. For the guy who doubts my helping Mickey Leland. Well I did. I worked with Ben Reyes and he volunteered us to help Mickey. As for my spelling if you watch any of my post you will see I mispell everything. on that very same post I spelt think as thank. Suffice it to say those who think I am an idiot now have proof. English is my second language however. Anyway that's all I have to say about this. Peace Out

Why didn't you pick out the parts which you believe are the truth, and then invite discussion on that. If you're going to throw out a bunch of claims, most of which are misleading or disingenuous, you can't expect people to ignore that and focus on just a couple which you consider significant and indefensible. Your post loses credibility if your approach is to essentially throw a bunch of crap on the wall and hope some it sticks. That's what the McCain campaign has been doing, and people are tired of it.

Nice story. In spite of what epole think I am open. But most of my opinions come from what I see. I always thought Rudy was an honorable man. I raely felt that about JVG. I am not sure about Adelman but I am leaning to good character. And for Barack I am leading hard to the right of good character. I will say I think he is a good father too his daughters. That does count for something. Still he should help his brother.

So do you consider Obama not lending a hand to his half-brother a worse offense than McCain's treatment of his first wife?

Tell me something I don't know? Did he beat her?

I cheated on my ex-wife. Men do stupid things for lust and my wife divorced me for it. But we are friends now and her Daughter not mine is in college now and I send her money.

The thing is there is almost nothing that is unforgiveable. Just be open about and come clean. To yourself and if you are running for president than to the world.

Have you ever thought that maybe his brother doesn't want any help? There are plenty of people that are too proud for a hand out. Perhaps he is happy with his life in Kenya. Not everyone in the world is wrapped up in material possessions and money.

I look at it from the brother's point of view. He's a grown man living his life and all of the sudden he is thrown into the spot light even though he doesn't want to be. I know I wouldn't want to be the guy that his brother takes care of. I can make my own way and live my own life.

While I'm sure the standard of living is completely different in Kenya than it is in the US, pride probably is not. I'm sure that there are some people that wouldn't mind being taken care of by a family member, especially one that they do not really know, it sure isn't my cup of tea.

can you please give me your research "source" that confirmed that "Barack Obama" is an arabic name?

I am an arab, studied the Arabic language for the first 16 years of my life IN an Arab country, and I can confirm to you sir that the name "Barack" and "Obama" have absolutely no connection the Arabic language. "barakah" is indeed "blessing", and known variations of this root word are "mubarak" (as in 'Eid Mubarak') and "mabrook" (as in congratulations), but "barack" is totally unrelated to this root word, period. And yes, this is a "final answer", it's kinda like saying that "chicken" and "kitcken" are the same ..

oh, and "OBAMA" doesn't even have a similar sounding arabic word to which anyone could claim connection .. as a matter of fact, words that start with an "O" are extremely rare in the arabic language..

I won't bother going into the rest of the "lies" because the snopes article does a good job refuting them.

68 lies? One more and he could be accused of "fallacio." Oops, that's wrong (that's the 'she' act)- he would be accused of being "cunning" with his "linguistics." Or a "Cunning Linguist."

When I'm assessing a person's character, I'll first look at how they treat the people close to them. Then, how they treat people they're responsible for. It would be a rather noble thing if Obama chose to help this man he's essentially a stranger to, because he feels some attachment due to the common blood. But I don't see that young man as someone Obama is responsible for. I don't think he needs to apologize for not going out of his way to help a man he hardly knows. Does it point to a certain coldness or lack of compassion? Maybe. But then, that story above about the Norwegian lady would suggest something different. If you probe deeply enough into any man's personal life, particularly one with such a diverse and extensive set of relations, you'll find such contradictions.

On the other hand, being an adulterer or being flagrantly disrespectful of others (e.g. calling your wife a **** in public) points to how the person treats people he's close to or in company with. Far more relevant, in my opinion. Good for McCain for acknowledging it publicly, but then it was already out in the open and completely indefensible. What other choice did he have but to own up to it?

Dude, rimrocker, Obama was hitting on that woman. Sheesh.
I challenge any straight male on this board to claim he hasn't given money to a tall Norwegian woman at an airport. ... um,

    You just OWNED John's supporters.

How they can defend the character of a man who crapped on his vows by not only cheating on his wife but leaving her in sickness while attacking Obama's character for not sending a buck to a total stranger blows my mind.

    I would...

but would you.... I think not...

because your... response to someone without health insurance...would be... is it is their fault they would not or could not get it...

you would let them die on the operating table...

so why are you trying to pretend that you are so much better than Obama...

To be clear, your point of posting a bunch of known, proven lies about Obama was to see if people would point out to you that you're regurgigating right-wing propaganda and that would show that liberals spin things?

You have a very warped sense of reality.
