The other thing that distinguishes this from the flu is the so-called "long COVID" risk. Hopefully we understand that better as time passes and come up with ways to prevent or cure it.

It killed off a good percentage of your base so if you choose the believe that go right ahead...the original Covid virus was no joke. I see why dumbasses like you are just ignored...

 

Guys, I’m right there with you about Covid fatigue. I’m sick of it, I’m tired of it, I want it to go away. I want things to return to normal. It’s very frustrating.

But, a lot of people are still dying from this virus. The hospitals are packed with Covid patients.

Maybe I see things differently from many of the younger people here at Clutchfans. I have two very elderly parents with many underlying health conditions. I have a brother with a severe heart ailment that is preparing for heart surgery. All I know what to do to try to keep my family members safe is to get the vaccine, stay out of crowds and wear a mask. I feel exhausted by all this, but it must be done.

Right now, for me, the idea of having to take a booster every 6 months or so is not much of a sacrifice if it helps keep people alive.

 

I think vaccine mandates are no longer needed and should be ended. Society should open back up as well. Omicron is so infectious that masks are no longer effective outside the n95 type and it's too much to ask people to wear those. And given how less deadly it is, I think we can let people choose to take the risk if they want given it's not that risky as Delta and less likely to result in deaths if someone with it spreads it. Plus, everyone is probably going to get it eventually given its infection rate, so let it spread.

Who who get vaccinated and keep up with boosters should be fine. And the unvaccinated - well, they had nearly a year to get vaccinated and if they want to take a risk then let them at this point. The real danger now is to children under 5 who can't get a vaccine and in which a serious COVID infection can cause debilitating brain damage. My friend who is a pediatric neurologist has seen babies that are 2 months and 8 months old that will never be able to walk without assistance as they have severe brain damage from Covid. It's really heartbreaking.

So maybe they should first figure out the vaccine for those under the age of 5 and then release the restrictions, but I think by the time they do that most kids will be infected anyway.

 

They will never stop. That is why I never got started.

It makes no sense not to get a flu shot. It could save your life and there's no reason to believe it will harm you in anyway.

I hope you get the flu shot moving forward and I also wish you nothing be the best possible health outcomes in your life.

 

Most of those that are dying and packing hospitals are those who are unvaccinated tho according to the data right? Society has been put on hold because of them. Many of those that have been taking Covid seriously the whole time, are vaxxed, and/or have taken a booster are just ready to move on, especially when evidence is pointing to Omicron being a less deadly variant.
