the East lack depth all they have are point guards and shooting guards..no one to get rebounds, block shots, most of the teams in the WEST have at least one dominant player inside..laker-shaq...spurs-duncan....timber-garnett,...rockets-yao.....suns-amare.....and all the forwards in the East are skinny as a pencil....the east need buff and big men for the paint
There ae 2 teams in the Eastern Conference with a winning record against the West and 12 teams in the Western Conference with a winning record against the East.
I disagree. McGrady, Iverson, Davis and Carter all seem to have leveled out, in my opinion. I don't see any of them getting much better than they currently are, and as they currently are, only one of them is on a team that is doing much of anything in a weak conference. It's a sad state of affairs, but I don't see this conference inequality getting much better anytime soon. I mean, Lebron will turn out to be great, but so will Carmelo and he is in the West, so it evens out.
AI is not young. Especially with the beating he takes on a nightly basis. He'll be broken down in a few years. McGrady has already talked about retiring (albeit fueled by a really crappy start to the season- but what does that say about him?), and these types of back problems never seem to fully go away. Davis will be in the West next year. O'neal, yes, he's good. Carter? I think the jury's still out on him after the last year and a half or so. LeBron? He's what, 20 games in? Plus, take a look at his numbers through 20 games compared to past rookies of the year. He's not any better than Steve Francis, AI, Grant Hill.. So I think he'll be really good, but maybe not quite the second coming.. I don't see the East making up significant ground quickly, unless some key players move over there.
