a .410 quail load of lead 9s may not do the trick, whereas a 10 gauge 3.5" load of BBs or Ts will likely render your goose into goose jelly

always a good time to share this:

Depends on the lethality you are looking for. You can easily get away with say 20 gauge #3 Buckshot as a defense round, but you could also step it up to 12 gauge 00 buck alternating with slugs if you want more certain lethal effect.

It could be a very quick war, like the 6 Day War. I could be wrong but I think it would be a rout. Progressives cry more than fight.

I am betting on the side with tanks. And decidedly not on the "cosplay" warriors.

It wouldn't be a civil war the way you're thinking of it. It would be more like the fall of the weimar republic and then states splitting off and constant massacres as people relocate, sort of similar to how India and Pakistan fell apart.

Don't forget how many people fought in Iraq and Afghanistan and know insurgent tactics from that. It doesn't take much to cripple a country. Throw in a few Wacos or get some states whose national guard won't cooperate and it's a cluster****.

Yeah it's probably going to look more like that and in a quick motion. Think Oregon 2020 but on a nationwide scale.

Hey Dems, still want to give up your guns when Trump comes back into power?

actually, I take back what I said. Something like the Troubles in Northern Ireland is the best example for most of the country, at least in the beginning. Then maybe states or areas try to secede and we enter into something like Syria. It depends how the Feds manage it...another Waco during a Troubles situation would be a disaster.

I hope not, that would suck big time. I don’t believe we are heading to a civil war despite the chasm between the left and the right. I believe it is all about the economy. If people are able to put food on the table to feed their families, if they can fill up their gas tanks without selling their own blood, if they can go to work, make a decent livable wage and still have disposable income at the end of the month, people would be relatively happy and there is no need for all of this nonsense civil war talk.
    “ It’s the economy stupid “.

I don't think it's that simple, a lot of civil wars would be avoided otherwise. If we keep having elections where people can't agree on the outcome and when both sides see every election as an apocalyptic struggle for their own survival, it's going to end in bloodshed. Add to the pot the sheer amount of weapons and militias we have in this country and it's going to get ugly fast.

People care about themselves first and foremost and may not sign up to fight right away. But a few sparks can absolutely blow this powder keg.

I agree with you that people care about themselves and their families first and that’s why I think if we are prosperous and happy, we don’t want to go to war against our neighbors. However; if we are poor, desperate and miserable, it doesn’t take much to have a full blown war because each side will point a finger to the other side.

It's a lot more than economic prosperity though, particularly if people feel their rights are being trampled on or their voice isn't being heard. Wealth helps, but it's not the end all be all.
