The Athletic: Bruno Fernando Will Start Over Sengun When He Returns

Freaking hate Silas as a coach. I will celebrate the day he gets fired.

 

With or without Sengun, whole defensive scheme is and will be terrible, not only that but also you will simply destroy all ball movement and offensive flow of the team by not playing him. I have never seen an example of keeping the best(so far) offensive weapon and arguably the best player on the bench. Doesn’t make any sense to me at all. Plus 24-25 years old Bruno isn’t a prospect you want to develop… starting Garuba would make more sense defensively if that’s the case for developing your future piece. Sengun clearly made a very strong point by his offensive gravity that nobody has such a dominance in this team and his defense doesn’t offset that.

 

No he's not, and that's why the other guys who do have nearly identical ratings (Green is 120+).

I see why all of the potential flaws in building your team around Sengun make sense, in a 7 game series he's going to get Kantered (or Cousinsed if you want a non Turk) by teams with elite perimeter players.

But the Rockets are just so far away from that point right now I don't really care, he makes them more entertaining and that's frankly all i can ask for

 

Silas is an aficionado of role player Cs.

 

Let me put on my “KPJ defense hat” and point out that Garuba had 7 assists and 0 turnovers in his last game played and has a 9:1 assist to turnover ratio on the season.

If Bruno is the preferred archetype; then Stone should gotten Jared Allen when he had the chance. Be nice if the regime knows what they want to build and get the appropriate ingredients.

 

i dont trust off rating def rating stats +- and similar guesswork...too many variables....it can deceive the greatest experts...his teammates may sabotaging him etc


other than that, my guess is sengun is not used correctly and you either gonna run everything tru him so his positives can cover his negatives and then some or hes a net negative player...

you may hold a gun in your hand but if you aint gonna be firing him from time to time you may be robbed blind nevertheless

 

Silas is an idiot, everyone knows it now, just face it.

 

I don't have an issue with it, provided Sengun is really featured when he is on the floor.

I’ve never seen an organization prioritize undrafted players and scrubs over their own FIRST ROUND draft selections.

Prioritizing Matthews, Nix, Tate, and Bruno over Eason, TyTy, Garuba, and Sengun is just straight f***ing incompetence.

 

at least we have utah jazz to root for now...
their emergence is so refreshing...no superstar divas just good players playing with effort iq and intensity...giving everything leaving everything on the floor every night

 

I'm with you Silas.

Sengun only gives us hope of outscoring a team.

Bruno gives us more of a balance on offense and defense to be competitive.

I don't care if we score 125 points a game with Sengun starting if we allow 138 a game.

Bruno fits more the Silas scheme of screen and roll to the basket....lob over the top.
