So is Jordan yet nobody brings that stuff up when it comes to him. The guy had a serious gambling problem that possibly forced him out of the league the first time around, cheated on his wife just like Kobe did, is equally as arrogant as Kobe, and even punched a teammate in the face. Everybody wants to be like Mike though.
True. Nevertheless the guy would be a goner. He fits in perfectly where he's right now. He's a show man. If he had a clone with that Patterson mentality now that would be something....
I don't like the fact that he gets all whiny and attempts to get revenge out on the court. I mean there is a difference between flopping/pushing off and purposely attempting to hurt or injure an opposing player out of pure frustration... If you watched the Lakers v. Rockets series two seasons back, Kobe kneed Battier in the face multiple times because he got frustrated by Battier's defense. Battier responded by walking away, and of course Kobe neither got a technical during the game or after the game, even though it was clearly blatant. Of course I haven't seen any of that from him this season... and I still agree he is the best player in the league today... however his attitude needs major work.
Mike is the best player talent wise, and the worst player attitude wise... But of course he won tons and tons of championships, so who cares?
Congrats to Kobe, now I just want the Rockets to derailed his chance to win another chip. That would make my season.

i love how PJ gets no credit for Odom and Gasol going from worthless to stars. yeah, playing with a guy who attracts double and triple teams will improve your game but i think PJ had something to do with motivating those two. moreso than kobe's headslaps.
i couldn't agree more. I just wish people could take that same attitude with Kobe especially when he is probably the better person of the two.
What I find ironic is despite his "douchebag" persona IMHO Kobe Bryant is the type of person that would be the one who's kind to fans. Kobe craves attention, especially from people who thinks he's the coolest. I can totally see him being approachable and nice to fans, while people like Tmac or LBJ who get along with other players would be the ones who are aloof and distant to the fanboys. So guys calling Kobe a jerk or a jackass probably haven't met him in person.
What about Gasol disappearing in Boston? Kobe wouldn't let the Lakers lose and that's what won them the chip. There is no way that Gasol deserved the MVP over Kobe.
I don't HATE Kobe, but I dislike him immensely. Hate is such a strong word... it should be saved for Child Molesters and People who talk in the movie theatre.
I hate kobe because he is a dirty player (see last year playoffs against rockets). jordan wasn't as dirty. Last year, he showed no respect to shane battier (screaming he can't guard me). He used to be a selfish gunner but now shares the ball at times because he knows that he needs to do this to win (not because he wants to share the ball). For all of his faults, he is extremely intelligent and has learned that a 1-man offense is too easy to defend (lebron still has'nt learned to do this). However, he is probably the 2nd most skilled player in the history of the game which makes him one of the hardest workers of all time.
I have some sort of a love - hate thing with Kobe, I love him as a player but hate him as a person (see Rockets series last year) .
You shouda seen him in 06-07...I mean like watch every game- They were all amazing. As for your analysis, I agree with all of them except your take on the article, which IMO is superbly written. I don't see what there is to be confused about....a star player cannot win without a good supporting cast, but it is only fair when he does win, the majority of the credit goes to him- Nothing wrong with that, it IS his team afterall. I think as respectable and knowlegable Rockets fans we should stay out of the crossfire between half-delirous Kobe fan-boy homers and vehement haters
Lol, wut Jordan played dirty on defense. Moreso than Kobe, by some margin. That's really not a knock against him, EVERYONE did in the late-80s/early-90s. I don't even blame him, based on how teams like the Pistons used to play against him.
If it's a art, to hate Kobe Bryant. Than I'm ****ing Picasso. One of the greatest players ever, no doubt. Also one of the biggest douchebags to ever walk the NBA courts. I hate that prick.
are you sure jordan was dirty or just physical? I don't remember jordan elbowing & kneeing people as much as kobe did to battier & artest last year.
