10 (11 if you count Kevin) of the 14 you listed were the same last year. Yet these guys were the reason we were so proud of the Rockets last year. Go figure.
The Art of Finding a Scapegoat from Hayesfan go figure lol I love Chuck but he is what he is a situational defender. I love when he shuts down Pau Gasol or comes up with a loose ball to secure a W. But when he is strugglin take him out he is a liability on the offensive side and the free throw line so why make him a scapegoat. He plays hard but sometimes hard isnt good.
this is the sort of narrow minded response that keeps me from posting things a lot of the time I'm also a Scola fan and a Lowry fan... should I change my name so my comments are taken more seriously?
I agree. Its TEAM blame. Especially THIS Rockets team which is based on a team philosophy more than previous teams. If this was 2007 and back with Van Gundy Rockets Tmac/Yao and a bunch of stiffs then yes its much more understandable and easier to assign fault to certain players. This team doesn't rely on a singular player (though Battier singularly sucks on offense). And its the same guys that had winning records the past couple years. Did all their talent all of a sudden get WORSE? You can make a case that some players have gotten "figured out" by the opposition, the Rockets aren't taking anyone by "surprise" anymore. For now I say its team blame with certain guys deserving more than others.
You could probably add Morey to the scapegoat list. "Dork Elvis is too in love with his No Stats All-Stars." The team is lacking that elusive thing called chemistry. There's been a lot of new players added, injuries to work around. Adelman is still trying to figure out his rotation and combinations of players that he can really rely on. I thought he'd have a better idea by now, but I can understand why it's taking so long.

Cleverly disguised thread on defending Chuck Hayes. You point out other problems on why Rockets are losing games but your "venting not whine" in various posts all points to you defending Hayes. I understand that you're upset but fans do have every right to criticize players. Its not so much pointing fingers but more as pointing to a problem and trying to rationalize. As for "tall people play basketball better than short", it's true. Given two players with identicle skill, speed, and leaping ability, the taller player always has the advantage. Anyone who plays basketball should know this.
You are right I can spell identical and you can't... therefore I am a better speller than you. But we have the same spelling training and are at the same level for everything else.... so how is it possible that I could be better than you?? Might I suggest intelligence as the answer? You sir are blinded by my username... you and I know exactly the same amount about this team, or at least I will give you the benefit of my doubt on that, but apparently, you can only see one side of it. The limitation of discussion is what I am protesting here, not defending Chuck, not decisions over who plays when, debate that all you want. My problem is people simplifying everything and saying "it's so-and-so's fault we lost." No, it's really not so-and-so's fault... there is a collective responsibility. Then let's discuss that rather than the obvious... Jordan Hill is tall, he should be able to rebound a better percentage than his shorter competition. At any rate, my ire on this topic has waned... I'm ready for tomorrow's game! No more arguments from my perspective... I'll just continue to ignore posts that have no more depth than a puddle.
Grammar Nazi! And is there a need for the cheap shots? lol So what do you define as a "limitation of discussion"? So if I said Chucks Hayes is hurting the team because of so on and so on is that a limitation of discussion? Does one have to provide STATS to get rid of the limitation part? If people have a discussion based on what they only see, does that make it a limited one? You made a valid list of reasons why the Rockets are losing. I realize there are other issues but I tend to point out what's most obvious to me. Chuck Hayes is my scapegoat, there I said it.
No, that was me having fun with sarcasm because I'm an insomniac... and a little loopy this time of night. Limitation of Discussion - starting a thread with two player's heights and a comment "tough call, right Rick" starting a thread that says "face it we suck" "blow it up" or "let the tanking begin" starting a thread that says some player "must love head" with a comment that he's a choker There's nothing valid in starting those threads... though I will be honest and say some good posts are made refuting the comments made by those thread starters. At any rate, Chuck can be your scapegoat with my blessing. Every year there has to be one.. Ryan Bowen, Juwan Howard, Rafer Alston, "He Who Shall Not Be Named" etc... etc... etc!
Yah know there are times i think the NBA should change into a 1 on 1 type of basketball game. As in only 1 player per team. That way you really get to blame the goat (the only goat).
1st quarter- 1 on 1 2nd quarter- 2 on 2 3rd quarter- 3 on 3 4th quarter- 4 on 4 Coming soon to an arena near you...the XBA!
Gotcha! My intelligence has just dropped a notch, wait i'm giving myself too much credit. lol Oh I remember that Rafer "baby floater" and Juwan "hook shot" Howard. On the real though, I do find myself rooting for Chuck more than the other guys on the floor. You gotta love his heart and effort he puts out. Smash Indiana!
Wait one secone...HOLD EVERYTHING !! Voldemort was a very legitimate scape goat....come on now....you can't take that away from us, just because he is spewing his wizardry in Michigan. DD
