expressed support for a designated terrorist organization. that, in and of itself, is sufficient to revoke his green card.
Yes green card is permanent but it can be revoked. US citizenship can be taken away as well, for naturalized citizens as well as citizens by birth. Ask Bobby Fischer (well can't ask him since he's dead but it happened to him). Not like our government hasn't done bad things to our fellow citizens before - ask Japanese Americans in WW2. So if the US government is against any group and you show support to the enemy, that could be classified as treason, which can get your citizenship taken away even if you were born in LA.
We just going to willy nilly label anything we disagree with as support for terrorism from now on to supress speech huh? The Donald recently stated that vandalizing Teslas is a act of terrorism. Don't worry if a leftist populist gets in power we'll make any expression of support for MAGA as a support for terrorism and we can deport you to the Balkans. They got white Christians in the Balkans. Don't people like you say that about Palestinians? They are Muslim Arabs so they can move to any Muslim Arab country. We can deport you to the Balkans. Your people live there.
Yes, but only with due process. Both green cards and citizenship can be revoked, but only after a legal process. In this case, the green card was revoked without due process, and a court order was needed to stop deportation. Exactly, our government has done bad things in the past, like the internment of Japanese Americans during WW2, which was later recognized as a wrongful act. That’s why we should strive to avoid repeating such injustices. BTW, Bobby Fischer's US citizenship was NOT revoked. He renounced it.
Freedom of speech is only that you can criticize the government without being prosecuted for it, thats it. It doesn't mean that you can go outside and yell w/e the F you want. People think its "freedom of speech" I can say whatever I want, no you can't. You can say whatever you want about the US government but thats about it.
It has limits. Political speech (against the government or expressing your political view) is protected. eg. the expression of Nazi views is protected speech.
Are you referring to the war against the fascist Japanese empire that attacked Pearl Harbor and allied with the Nazis that invaded many sovereign countries and committed atrocities in said countries that resulted in 20,000 US Marines dying? And comparing that to a group of stateless humans with no conventional warfare means? It's actually even more pathetic when you realize the government of Israel might have literally killed more Americans with a single incident in USS Liberty than all of Palestinian resistance combined from the PLO to Hamas. Palestinians are not the enemy of Americans. Neither where Japanese Americans at the time either but this is even more absurd given the context I provided.
Wanting to stop funding a genocide is being critical of the US government. The irony of this is Mahmoud as a permanent resident pays taxes that fund a genocide of his own people. That is one ****ed up part about this people haven't picked up.
That's my point "designated Terrorist group" is generally an arbitrary thing that can change tomorrow It's an opinion it's a political designation without a difference Rocket River
It is a civic duty for an American to back hand slap any maga supporter who utters the term "free speech" vocally in front of you due to the bad faith nature of them using that term.
Trying to remember when George Lincoln Rockwell was detained without due process for supporting a foreign enemy
expressed support for a designated terrorist organization. that, in and of itself, is sufficient to revoke his green card. It’s also the law.
just because yall keep saying this doesn’t make it true. I’ll ask again. Where is the proof of this? Not a single one of yall have offered anything
It's also the LAW that Trump cannot stop federal spending on project but the law is more a suggestion than anything these days Rocket River
I'm not referring to anything, I'm just saying nothing is guaranteed. Japanese Americans weren't protected by the citizenship alone. So if it could happen to US citizens, what makes you think it can't happen to a green card holder?
