You could be a 5star general in the army but you aren't necessarily worth a crap once you step into an Apple store. It's one big fantasy land those army guys live in.
It's a referral system. Troops get 2k for getting someone to sign up if they make it through boot camp.
I will complain all I want. If I was a parent and my kid was approached by army recruiters the way I saw them come after kids when I was in high school I would be pretty pissed. And the propaganda they come out with these days, they have Marines shooting lasers through their swords on Saturday morning TV. Naturally I don't care about people I don't know so it doesn't really bother me. Hell if they payed me well I would probably do marketing for them. But if it affected me personally you better believe I would make a fuss over it. And a draft?! I'd gladly leave the country if there was a draft. You cant yell at me and force me to do mindless unquestioned things, then you force me somewhere, you put a gun in my hand and yell at me? Scary situation for everyone.
Don't hate on people complaining about military recruiting. Those people in the military died so they can complain. It is their right to complain about people that died for them.
Just get good grades; go to a solid undergrad, then after some years of work experience you go to a top 30 B-school, or you place at the top of your class in law school. Either way will land you a much higher position in those very corporations you speak of.
