If we can move Mo's contract somehow or if the bobcats pick him up in the expansion draft I really hope that Dice signs with us cheap I like a PF combo of Howard/Dice better than Howard/Taylor.

Taylor is a great offensive player but desperately needs to have the ball to score points, he cant really work that well within a set system or find shots within the flow of the offense. Defensively he is a liability. Howard and Dice are better defenders and rebounders than Taylor and very compentent offensive players to boot. Remember, Juwan was once an all-star.

The big ? with Dice is of course how healthy is he? Can he be the same player or at least close enough to the same player he was before the injuries. (unlike googs and penny) He will lose something, but i think playing 20 minutes a night he can be a great efficient player still for this team.

    Does McDyess deserve the MLE?

    Does McDyess deserve the MLE?

I wouldn't have any qualms about giving MLE money to McDyess as long as he could pass any physical that is put in front of him by Rockets brass. I know he isn't the McDyess that he used to be but I really feel he could help this team in the areas that need help most...rebounds, blocks, and hustle play.

The main reason I ask if he is worth MLE money is because I have heard Rich and Charlie on 610's afternoon show repeatedly say they wouldn't pay him no more than the veteran's minimum which I think is ridiculous. They keep referring to the fact that he has only played in 20+ games the last three seasons combined, but he had two major surgeries. What else do you expect with those types of injuries. As long as he can show he is fully recovered from the injuries and that he can revert to a somewhat shadow of his former self then I think he is worth well more than the veteran's minumum.

    Thoughts?

With Lack of Available Depth of the Center position, we will probably have to use Howard, Taylor and McDyess as the Back up center, at least for the next season. That isn't too bad all things considering. So even with Spoon on the roster, there will be enough minuted for them to play and build upon, not to mention trade bait for one of them if need maybe. Finding a PG might be the largest issue and maybe we have to get a temporary PG if players like Fisher aren't around. realize also the amount T-Mac will control the ball for now.
